I hold on to Lottie's hand. Not from fear, but from excitement. The kind of excitement you feel when you're waiting for something big to happen.

''Am I going to have a brother and sister Katie?'' Asks Lottie, hardly able to contain her own excitement. I look at her beaming, toothless smile and remember when I was in this room, waiting for her to come. Who knew her birth would change our lives completely? Life with Lottie was by far much more pleasant. She was joy itself.

''Yes. You are'' I say softly returning her smile.

Lottie was only four. She didn't really understand that there were bad people and good people in this world. I guess you could call her naive, but I think it's what I love most about her, what everyone does. Her short blonde hair bounces up and down as she squeals in excitement.

''Can we call them Dan and Ann?'' She asks.

''You'll have to ask mum'' I reply.

''Miss Becker, your mother would like to see you'' says a nurse; coming out of the room my mum was staying in.

Taking Lottie's hand we walk towards the room and open the door. Lottie runs towards my dad, who's holding one of the twins and jumps up and down screaming over and over again'' can I see?'' My mother, who's currently holding the other twin, laughs to see my dad struggling against the insistent Lottie.

I walk over to her and carry her up, so that she could see the baby. Slipping her finger through his hand, the baby hung on to it tightly, as if not wanting her to let go of her.

''He's beautiful'' I whisper in awe.

''Dan is handsome Kay. Ann is the pretty one'' Lottie corrects me, squirming in my grip, trying to get to my mum.

''Dan? Ann?'' Asks my dad in confusion.

''I named them'' Lottie beams proudly.

''How about Daniel?'' Asks my mum.

''And Annabeth?'' Continues my dad, sitting on the edge of the bed.

''Then you can call them Dan and Ann, Lottie'' I join them.

''I LOVE IT!!!''She squeaks.

I stroke Ann's head and Lottie stares at her intently. Their eyes were closed but I wished they weren't. I wanted them to look at me. I wanted to see the colour of their eyes. I also wanted to know what their hair colour was. I'd landed with blue eyes like dad and light brown hair like mum.

Lottie, however, was a different story. She had my dad's blue eyes and blonde hair, but my mum's upturned nose, long eyelashes and her very own happy, cheerful, confident self.

''When are you coming back home mum?'' I ask out of nowhere.

''Tomorrow. I need a few hours to rest'' She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.

''Do we have to go to school?'' Lottie whines with huge wide and innocent puppy eyes.

''Yes young lady, you both do'' Dad motions to me as well.

'' Mummy... Please????? Pretty please with a thousand cherries on top?'' She stresses on the 'e' in 'please'.

''Sorry love, you can't miss out on another day of school. You've already missed today'' my mum strokes Lottie's hair lightly.

'' Fine'' She gives in dragging the 'i'.

''We should get going'' my dad hands a nurse nearby Dan and picks Lottie up. He pecks mum on the cheek and gives her a reassuring smile. I hug her tightly and mutter a quick goodbye.

We walk towards the parking area with smiles on our faces.

Where most little kids would be jealous of any new siblings, Lottie wasn't. And that's the truth.

Lottie wasn't like other kids...

Hey guys!! I hope this book will be successful and I hope you will all enjoy it, I've been thinking about writing this kind of story for a long time and so yeah...here it is... Also before we start I just wanna go over a few things, sorry in advance for the long A/N to come:

1) No negativity here, please be as nice as possible, however I still do accept constructive criticism, remember there is a difference between being rude and giving honest advice.

2) I follow the British spelling so do put that in mind when reading, I respect your spelling you respect mine, let's not get any conflicts about which one is right.

3) Feel free to comment, it really makes my day and makes me happy even if it's a simple smiley face because it assures me that someone is acknowledging my work.

4) At the end of each chapter I will try my best to put a few questions so that you can comment on.

5) I'd love any book recommendations, so please give me some suggestions whether it is or isn't on wattpad.

And yeah, other than that formal stuff, let's get on to the rest of the story :).

Enjoy
