After a while the darkness stops. I stop falling. The light from the sun stings my eyes. How long has it been since I've seen sunlight? I know that the sunlight in this game is virtual but, the relief is just the same. I'm on the ground, unhurt. Zachary pokes his head over the edge of the top of the house. From here, he looks almost human. Usually, he looks slightly pix-elated. From far away though...

It only takes Zachary one moment to swing onto the ground. I scramble backwards. I don't have time to get up and run. Zachary is walking swiftly toward me. And he still has a knife. Right before Zachary bends down, I kick him in the privates. I meant to kick him in the stomach but, since I was on the ground, I missed. Oh well, it worked anyway. Zachary crumples to the ground.

I stand up. I almost would feel bad for the guy.... except for the fact that he tried to kill me! Before Zachary gets up, I grab the knife that is laying next to his face. Zachary's eyes widen. Hah! Who's the scared one now? Poor Zachary though. He's paralyzed. But still, he tried to kill me! Should I leave him here? I need answers and somebody needs to start talking. Now that everysim knows my secret. I need a hostage. Okay then.

I grab a virtual rock and slam it over Zachary's virtual head. He passes out right away. I drag him into the woods, wincing at how heavy he is. I hope nobody sees me dragging this unconscious body into the woods...

After a lot of dragging and searching, I manage to find a weird cave thing. I can't search the area because I can't leave Zachary behind. He might wake up and tell everyone where I am. Or worse, he might come after me and take me by surprise. I lean Zachary up against the wall of the inside of the cave. I sit and wait for him to wake up.

         Zachary's eyes pop open.

"What the-" He says. I punch him in the mouth.

"Hey!" Zachary starts to get up. Before he does, I pull out the knife and lay in against his arm. I'm too nervous to bring it near his face. Or his heart. His stupid virtual heart. Of course, all traces of animation are gone on his face. He is now fully human. Or human looking.

"Sit down." I say my voice wavering. I can't believe I am doing this! Zachary sits slowly. He looks at the knife on his wrist.

"Hey!" Zachary repeats. He's at least sitting on the ground now. "My knife!"

"Yes," I shoot back. "And if you don't listen to me, you won't have a wrist either. I'm looking for answers. Can you do that for me? Answer honestly?"

"I don't know." Zachary says honestly. I growl at him. "Okay, okay!" Zachary says. He puts his hands up in helplessness.

"Get your hands down!" I snap. I lay the knife against his leg. "I want truthful answers." Zachary nods. That's a start.

"Why didn't that awful noise bother anyone else?" I say, trying to sound scary.

"That sound is what made them. They grew up with it. And you are a jerk." Zach replies.

My eyes flash angrily. My face grows hot. I hold the knife to Zach's throat.

"Didn't you know? Only humans can be cut by a human knife." Zach says nonchalantly. I grimace. I can't hurt him.

(Zach's POV)

Kim the human stares at me in confusion. I smirk. That's what she gets for pressing that knife against my body.

"Then why did you stay with me? Why didn't you run out right away?" Kim says suspiciously. I smile.

"I'm human too, Kim." I say.

Wait what? Zach is a human? Since when? Is he lying? That wouldn't explain why I screamed at the sound in the square and he didn't. But it would explain why he was afraid of the knife. Of course...he could be lying about that, right?

"Okay then," I say. "If you're a human, then why did you attack me? I'm a fellow human."

"I can explain." Zach says. "I thought you would freeze from shock. I wouldn't acctually stab you." He gets up from the ground and comes closer to me.

"I'm not afraid of you." I snarl, taking out the knife. "Sit down. I can stab you: no guilt." My rage at Zach's lies almost compels me to stab him. After all, it would tell me if he was a human or not. Zach sits down abruptly.

"Now," I say. "How do I know you are an actual human?"

"You have to trust me..." Zach says meekly.

"Trust you? Trust you?" I scream. I look toward the cave entrance and lower my voice. "I have no reason to trust you. But, I have to. If I find out you're lying, I will cut you." I calm myself down. "Now, how did I get transported into this game? Did I do something wrong?" I say in panic. What if I'm trapped in this game forever?

Zach gives me a grim smile. "Your sim found a way to escape the game using diffrent items from each sim game you own. She also hacked the network. If we want to get out of here, we have to do the same thing. Also-"

"Wait, we are going to escape this game?" I interrupt. Zach sighs like I'm an idiot.

"Face it, Kim. You're not getting out of here without my help. Now, we need to go through a series of quests. Also, we need to steal some things. We might need to kill a sim or two as well." Zach says looking into my eyes. Searching. Am I trustworthy? Is he trustworthy?

"Why didn't you try to escape before?" I say, quiet as a mouse. I dread the awnser.

"You'll learn soon enough." Zach says. His voice quivers a little bit. I tremble. I guess I don't want to know the answer after all...
