“Remember, be extremely quiet – watch your every step. If anything happens, run back and hide quietly,” Jin summed up. He was the oldest, so he felt responsible for caring after the group.

“Mhm,” Yoongi hummed. The rest of us nodded our heads in agreement.

“Ok, so you, Taehyung, and Jungkook pair up. Jin and Yoongi will be a pair and Hoseok and I will be a pair,” Joon, or Namjoon, instructed, his leader-like side of his personality in use. I headed to Kookie as Taehyung did the same. These were our usual teams, the two hyungs, the middle two, and the three maknaes.

We lined up with our partners, youngest in the front and oldest in the back, just like any other day. Jungkook stepped up and lifted the door using the rusted handle. Its creaks and groans echoed through the still forest. I winced and looked around, unsure if we really were alone. Something told me we weren’t, but I just shrugged it off, thinking that this was one of my many exaggerated thoughts.

Finally, Jungkook let go of the handle when it hovered just a couple of centimeters off the ground. It made a slight thud sound, but it wasn’t very audible because of the dirt and leaves underneath it, acting like a cushion.

Everyone pooled around the opening, encircling it. I got really curious and exited, but nervous at the same time. Nevertheless, I was eager to look inside, and I was pretty sure everyone else was too. I couldn’t see very far into the square-shaped hole in the ground, just the first few feet. There were uneven steps were made of cement with dark green moss on it, creeping in from the corners. The cement had become very dirty due to old age.

Tae, Jin, and Hoseok pulled out a small flashlight from their light, padded jackets.

“Ok,” Tae said with a slight ring to her voice. She stepped forward and started to walk into the unknown. I tentatively stepped down too, and Jungkook followed.

As soon as I entered the staircase, I got hit by a musty scent. The air was thick and humid, similar to how it was outside. I heard tiny crunching sounds every time someone made a step on the stairs, which made me shiver. When Tae swung the flashlight around the narrow passageway, I spotted spiders and other insects scuttling all over the walls. The staircase curved about a dozen steps into the passageway, so I couldn’t see the end, which made me even more nervous.

"Hoseok and I are coming, hm?” Joon called down to us.

“Come right ahead,” Jungkook replied with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. I heard the click of a flashlight and could see some of the light it produced through my peripheral vision. As we turned the curve, I heard yet another flashlight click, indicating Jin and Yoongi’s entrance to the passage.

We just turned the curve and shone the flashlight straight ahead, which displayed the end of the passage. It was another wooden door with a curved top and a big, brass handle on it.

"Let's wait for the others to decide what to do next," Kookie suggested. We stood right in front of the door when Hoseok and Joon came down, then Jin and Yoongi after a minute or so. The small flat surface in front of the door wasn’t enough space for all seven of us to stand on, so Jin and Yoongi had to stand on the last step.

"What's or next move?" Yoongi's voice echoed loudly through the whole area. Suddenly, I heard an ear-piercing scream.
