I had arrived at work on time with a minute to spare. I'd have been earlier because the bus was supposed to be 50 minutes taking into account all the stops it made but some assholes car had broken down and he had felt the need to block off the whole road until it was fixed. Seriously was he that important? I thought glaring at the tinted windows of the no doubt expensive car. I had never seen a car in that specific shade. It was almost grey, or blue but it wasn't fully. A shade in between, a perfect blend. I didn't know much about car but it was beautiful. The man who was outside fixing the car was dressed in a chauffers uniform so he was obviously not the owner. Luckily after ten minutes 30 seconds, yes I was timing, it was fixed and they were on their way.I stepped through the restaurant door. The place was empty but there was a single car parked outside in the client car park. I would recognise that colour any where. It was the car from earlier. I pushed the double doors placing my bag in my locker and throwing my Id around my neck. The security guard out front knew me. I walked into Mr.Perv's office to see even it was empty. Did I hear the time wrong last night? It was now five minutes after six. Deciding to go check the managers lounge area. Someone had to be here.
Pulling open the surprisingly heavy door I stepped inside not even looking up I did jump and look back when the door slammed close behind me though. My head snapped up when I heard audible gasps. Everyone was staring at me in horror and looking up at the giant of a man standing at the front as if awaiting his reaction. He was dressed flawlessly in an expensively obviously custom tailored suit. He didn't even glance at me once, as if I was beneath him and not worth his stare. I refused to blush and be embarrassed even under everyone's scrutinising stare. Instead I stepped confidently into the room my head going up a notch my eyes vague and a emotionless icy blue.
"Good morning, sorry for my tardiness" I say collectively to the room. The man at the front ignored me his from what I could see dark green eyes not even flickering to me. He was tall and looked to be in his mid to late twenties but they way he held himself spoke of authority. He had a commanding air around him.
"As I was saying, he continued in a deep masculine voice. This branch of the restaurant is being closed as money invested will be turned to something more useful. It's not as profitable as it used to be. Some of you, will be relocated, the hard working, on time ones," he says stressing the on time, eyes flickering to me for a second. They looked then paused not giving anything away. I looked back into his eyes, my expression blank."
"Others will need to find new employment, you will be given a small allowance though for the inconvenience."
I scoffed silently, he was ruining so many persons life with his annoucement and all he had to say was "sorry for the inconvenience," I thought mocking him in my mind. I looked up to see several shocked faces looking at me. Seem like I'd spoken out loud I do that sometimes. A hard pair of piercing green eyes glared at me, his face otherwise emotionless. "If someone has something to say, the least they could do is have some back bone and the decency to say it to my face." He said voice silently glaring.
I ignored it and his taunt of sorts.
"If that's all you can all leave. Some of you will be called in for interview on Monday by one of my managers for relocation, the others," he said now specifically looking at me at the back of the crowded small lounge room where everyone was standing at the front looking up at him like Jesus on the Mount. I suggest you find new employment. You're dismissed," he says with a flick of his hands. Many persons still hang in the room looking for the opportunity to impress him no doubt.
What a fùcking asshole. Waking us up before six, ruining my dayoff just to tell us we're fired. I was so angry. I got up at that ungodly hour just to be told I'm fired. What a douchebag. I don't expect any better still. It was the way of men like him, men with affluence. I mean I was planning on leaving the job any way but still. In my two years here I'd not made one friend, keeping to myself I was known as the prissy cold bitch, a tease. They seem to think I've been the one throwing myself at Mr.Perv and when he return the affection I turn cold. Seriously? I don't need any ones attention and neither am I seeking approval from any one. I don't mind one bit though how everyone avoided me, I was able to live my life comfortably. Grabbing my hand bag I shoved the door to the employees section only of the restaurant open ready to kiss this place sayonara. I know for sure I wouldn't get called and if by some miracle I did I wouldn't turn up. I'd gotten recommendation letters from my manager already so this place could kiss my ass. I had just shoved the door open when I heard rushed foot steps behind me before I was being grabbed by the arm. I was pulled around roughly. I barely refrained myself from kneeing now that I look the man who was shutting down the restaurant in his scrotum. I swallowed the harsh scream words bubbling up my throat that I wanted to throw at him not to touch me.
