The Diner was just a few yards away from the Quarters. Mini-vans were available for transportation but we decided to walk as it was a breezy night.
On our way, we chatted a bit. I asked Rose about her arrival to the Quarters. "I came in the morning at around nine. My parents and my brother, Dave, came to drop me off. After making all the arrangements, they left," she said.
"What sort of arrangements?" I asked with a doubtful look on my face. Josh was speaking of arrangements for stay too and so I asked her.
"You know, like the payments for the Quarters and the classes," she replied.
"What? Do we have to pay?" I asked her.
"You are kidding, right?" she asked me with an amazed look. After noticing my expression she continued, "No, I see you are not. Well, then someone else must have paid it for you. I have heard that the blue-bloods have sponsors."
I was confused. I couldn't think of anyone who would sponsor for me in Illusia. Who would sponsor me? Maybe it is someone I don't know. Of course it's someone I don't know. Oh, silly me! How could I possibly know anyone in this brand new world?
We reached the Diner. It was a huge building. It had various benches around it with umbrellas and some small tents. I peeped into a tent and found that it had a few benches inside it too. We entered the building. It was crowded. People were standing in queues in various counters to receive their meals.
Once we got ours, we decided to sit inside the building that day. Due to the heavy crowd, we decided that we will eat in the tents some other day. We had noodles for dinner.
Once I was done, I left to dispose off my plate and washed my hands while Rose had her juice.
I waited outside the Diner and saw her walking towards me. While she had her attention on me, she accidently clashed with a girl walking in the opposite direction.
I was not able to see the face of that girl from where I was standing but her golden-blonde hair was clearly visible. It was tied neatly in a pony and a jeweled tiara was ornamenting it. She wore a golden top and a matching skirt. She was accompanied by two other girls, one had brown hair and the other had black hair.
I saw that Rose and that girl, whom she clashed with, had a conversation which soon looked like an argument. So I moved towards them.
What is this about?
I saw Rose turning away from them to leave. But then I saw that the other girl, with whom Rose was conversing, was about to dump her meal at Rose.
I yelled, "NO" by raising my hand in a protesting way. As soon as I did that, I saw a branch of a nearby tree expand and it approached the girls at a rapid rate. It hit the plate, which made the contents of it, spill on that girl instead of Rose. I was speechless when I reached them.
What have I done?
Rose said looking at that blonde girl, "This humiliation was brought upon you by your own self," and she gave her a broad smile.
Rose took my hand and we walked away from that blonde girl, who was staring at me with her blue eyes in a grave manner. More people started to gather around us and I let myself be led away by Rose.
As I walked away, I heard her screaming at the top of her voice, "You'll pay for what you did. YOU'LL REGRET IT!"
As we reached our room in the Quarters, Rose burst out laughing and gave me a huge hug.
I pulled her back and asked, "What exactly happened?"
Rose narrated what happened at the Diner after she hit that girl accidently:
ROSE: I am sorry. The blonde girl faced her and Rose immediately recognized her as Teena whom she had already known from her days in Berglon.
TEENA: Well, I wouldn't be surprised to find that it is the same old infamous Rose, trying to humiliate me, the only daughter of the famous businessman of Berglon.
ROSE: Um...Teena, slow down. It happened accidently and I said I was sorry. It looks like you are the one who is trying to create a scene here.
TEENA: Oh, I get it. This must have been your plan to humiliate me in front of everyone. See, the crowd has already started to gather around us.
ROSE: I don't want to continue this stupid conversation anymore. I said I am sorry and it is time for me to leave.
"This was what happened before you heroically saved me from my humiliation," smiled Rose.
"I had no idea she was about to dump her food on me". She was definitely happy.
"Well, it is clear that I have no control over my powers but I am glad I saved you," I said managing a smile.
Though I was glad, Teena's words echoed in my head which made me waver a bit. "Who exactly is her dad, Rose?"
"Her dad is Stephen, who is the head chairman of the 'Stephen's Steel Company', a famous company in Berglon. Her dad is a well known man in the entire city. Her mom, Stella is sweet but Teena is too much in pride and arrogance similar to her dad. And she has a brother named Blake. Well, I haven't had any encounter with him so far. So I don't know anything about him. Me and Teena went to primary school together where she used to humiliate me almost every day," she said.
I had nothing else to say other than "Oh". Her words were not completely comforting.
We then chatted for a while, regarding the kinds of things the people of Illusia learn in primary school. They were pretty much the same as that in Earth.
We then went to bed wishing each other 'Good night'. As I lay on my bed recollecting the memories of that day, I realized that I had a girl who liked me and a girl who hated me during my very first day in Illusia.
