POWER PLAY

you stare at me, and I stare at you
who will give up first, you, me or them
I grasp at the sliver of hope, as you grasp at my finger
maybe you are mine after all, maybe

Taking your hand across the table, the fight is on
Clenching our fist together, you fight for your dignity
While I comprehend the possible outcome of a disaster
Will you still be mine if I loose or if I win?

This is the power, you have over me
The power to make me question my worth
Twisting my wrist, makes you tremble, and I smile
I have power too, as you well know

The power to crush your reputation, with my victory
This goes both ways, our power is our doom and weakness
Flaring up the tension, between our atoms of lust and desire
It is a power play, a game we can never win
