I opened the text literally right as I saw who it was. Mom.

I haven't talked about her for a reason. It hurts too much. All of the fun memories we had when were a complete family are unforgettable. She hurt my dad and it's hard to forgive but I still love her..

"Cassie-

I know it's been a while and I understand if you don't want to talk, but I am in town. I hope we can meet up and just talk."

"Hey mom. Yeah at university right now unpacking. Meet at Starbucks closest to here in an hour?

-cass"

We would always go to that Starbucks because we used to visit my cousin who went to the same college as me now..and I would always order hot chocolate.

"I will be there at exactly noon."

I plugged my phone into my Ihome and unpacked some of my boxes. As I was making my bed, I looked toward the door to see an unfamiliar face.

"Hi!" The girl with long blonde curly exclaimed in a peppy voice.

"Hello, not to be rude but who are you?" I said.

"I'm your roommate," she replied laughing.

"Oh I didn't know I had one, haha but I'm Cassie by the way."

"Nicole."

*twenty minutes go by*

I had finally finished unpacking and making my bed. I had brought some of my favorite books and new ones I'm planning on reading.

I was just getting comfy on my bed with my new book, divergent, when Nicole spoke up.

"I don't want to bother you but there's a party tonight and I was wondering if you wanted to go."

"Oh I don't know..classes start soon and-"

"Oh come on! It will be fun and it's college," she said rolling her eyes.

I almost considered it but I don't want to be getting into any kind of trouble. I remembered what happened at that party with harry...

"You sure?"

"Yep," I said with my head buried in my book.

Silence.

When I look up she has puppy dog eyes.

"No," I simply stated.

"Please? You look like you need to have some fun anyway.

Is that an insult?

Ugh. "Fine."

"Yay!!" She half yelled jumping up and down.

I just shook my head. "What time?"

"We will leave at 7:30 sharp," she said with a huge grin.

"What do I wear?"

"Have you ever been to a college party?" She said smirking.

"Well..um okay no but I've had my fair share of high school parties!"

"We'll figure it out later..I'm gonna go meet up with a friend. Let's meet back here at 5."

With that she left with a quick bye.

"See ya!"

I hopped in the car to go meet my mom. I'm nervous to be honest. It's been about 6 years since I've seen her.

I made sure I had my key to our room so I wouldn't be locked out.

When I got situated in the car, my phone vibrated once again.
