"Eren!" Carla's voice rang from the bottom of the stairs, "Eren!! You're going to be late!"
"I know I'm coming!" Eren called back as he frantically threw items into his suitcase.
"The campus isn't that far away, if you forget something just come back for it!" Carla hollered rubbing her forehead, "It's not worth being late!"
"Guh!" Eren panicked as he forced the luggage closed and ran down the stairs careful not to trip.
Eren sighed as he looked out the window of his mother's car; his stomach doing flips. He was beyond excited to start at Stohess and move toward his dreams, but his excitement couldn't halt the anxiety gripping at his insides. He had decided to live in the dorms to save on travel and also to escape his father's judgemental glares.
Carla talked continuously on the drive giving the typical mom speach. Make good choices. Stay away from drugs. Don't party too much. You're still underage so don't you dare drink. Call home often. I expect you over for Sunday dinners...etc.
Eren tuned the woman out. He'd already heard this lecture a hundred times during the summer break, he could practically recite what she said verbatim.
Summer had passed quickly and the Fall semester at Stohess Uni was gearing up to get underway. Eren had met with Dean Pyxis three times over the summer. After their initial meeting where Eren officially accepted the invitation to attend Stohess, Pyxis had taken a liking to the boy. Their second meeting consisted of Pyxis challenging Eren to chess while talking about Eren's past and interests. Eren beat Pyxis three games in a row before he had to leave which lead Pyxis to set up another meeting so the older man could try again. If Eren learned anything about Dean Pyxis, the man hated to lose. Despite that fact, Pyxis has yet to beat Eren in a game. Not that Eren considered himself to be particularly good at chess, Dean Pyxis just seemed to be exceptionally bad at it.
Mikasa received an acceptance letter that came with an invitation to a summer sports camp that was run by Stohess faculty. Results of the camp would determined what amount of financial aid students would receive. The raven girl earned full marks in every event at the camp and all the teachers praised her abilities. However, her strong silent presence intimidated many and she had a tendency to speak too bluntly. She was offered a full ride with dormitory living under the requirement of taking communication classes each semester for three years.
Armin received a full ride as well, however dormitory living would not be covered under his scholarship. Being the only one of the three with his own car, however, Armin didn't seem to mind.
Eren sighed as he stared out the window, he tried to focus on breathing; the butterflies in his stomach seemed to get worse the closer they got to the campus.
His summer had been rather dull with Mikasa gone for a month of it at the camp and Armin being caught up in his brainiac endeavors that just gave Eren headaches. Then there was the grumpy raven midget that Eren found his thoughts drifting to all summer. After the chance meeting at the Garrison Market, Eren had not seen or heard from the man the rest of vacation. Eren never reached out to Levi either, even though the ravenette had written his number on the back of a business card with a short note, call me if something happens and you need help.
During his hours of boredom and out of shear curiosity, Eren had looked up the Director of Fine Arts on social media. Rivaille Ackerman had accounts that came up on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and even Tumbler; but of all the forums only Instagram seemed to be updated regularly. There were exuberant comments with each post and oddly enough none of the comments or shared posts seemed like things Levi would say let alone post to a public forum. If it hadn't been for the unmistakable resting-bitch face with a raven undercut, Eren would have believed the account belonged to someone else.
