#1: They produce, not just sell.

First of all, I just want to highlight on the fact that this is sort of a controversial topic in the kpop world and can cause conflicts between fandoms and so I have NO INTENTIONS of triggering any kind of fanwar or stupid quarrels between any fandoms. I like peace. This is just my opinion and I'm not trying to be salty on other groups because I believe every group is talented in their own way. Get it?

Now, going back to the main subject. This is probably what genuinely made me interested in SEVENTEEN before I even started getting to know them.

I appreciate good quality music and I would appreciate a group even more if they put efforts into the producing and making of their tracks. And when I found SEVENTEEN, I was like 'Wow, they've got the whole package'

Now SEVENTEEN are known to be self-producing idols; They write the lyrics, compose the music, choreograph the dances and are basically the only people responsible for the making of their tracks (of course they are still supervised by the Pledis' producer Bumzu, but that's only it. No interventions from professional composers and lyricists).

If you watch '17 debut project' you'll understand that even before they debuted, Pledis had thrown the entire responsibility of producing their own songs on them, making them work hard to ensure they would have good debut. THEIR OWN DESTINY WAS IN THEIR HANDS! AND THIS IS EXTREMELY HARD TO DO GUYS.

(like imagine training for so long and learning how to write lyrics and compose and choreograph only to FLOP at the end!! They must've been so anxious and nervous ;-;)

But luckily, they didn't flop. And when SEVENTEEN or their fans think about it, they won't be saying: "oh thanks to (n) lyricist/composer Seventeen are making their way to the top" NO. Instead, they'd be (we would be, bc im a fan too lmao) like: "Thanks to Seventeen's efforts and hard work, they are now making their way to the top".

See what my point is?

They won't owe anyone any credit because they themselves worked hard to achieve their dreams and produce high ass quality music.

Now some may say that the only ones working really hard in SEVENTEEN in the producing process are Woozi and Hoshi (producing and choreographing)

Well, lemme tell you

Woozi is the main producer of SEVENTEEN, he's the expert among the members in writing and composing songs but that doesn't mean the other members don't participate in the making. A lot of songs (which I'm too lazy to mention) had been co-written and composed by other members. The fact is: They like it when they write their songs. They are not some lazy ass guys waiting for Woozi to work his ass off and come out with tracks for their comeback.

Same thing with Hoshi, he is the main choreographer of SEVENTEEN, but that doesn't mean the other performance team members (Dino, Jun, The8) let him do all the work by himself. IN FACT, Dino has choreographed entire songs for Seventeen before and after debut. Jun and Minghao help a lot and they have infinite potential.

Infinite potential it is, because I've seen them grow and greatly improve in such a short time. Not only they express themselves, but they also know how to do it. They're very smart when it comes to producing and they always try new ideas and make them fit their image as a unique upbeat group.

Take for example the fact they always experiment with new music genres: pop, jazz, blues, rock, dubstep, EDM.. etc. Their image will always stay fresh and young, yet at the same time raw and mature.

I'm just saying that it's so good  to see them mold their works exactly how they want. Their songs are a reflection of their talent and true feelings.

They're expressing themselves the way the want through their works of art.

Isn't it so beautiful?

It's a huge responsibility yet they seem perfectly capable of handling it. Because I think they have this principle:  no one should be responsible of your success but yourself.

To finish this off, I would like to say that I'm immensely proud of them and seeing the fruit of their hard labor making them recognized for their talents is just sfjekfnhxuisjwndn.

I'm haeppy.

Anyways, whatcha think? Do you like this book so far?

Til next time,
-Hime♡
