I woke up extra early because I didn't want to be late for my first appointment and because Louis doesn't like waiting.

After breakfast, he drives me to the doctor's office. The ride there was full of jokes, like all of our walks or rides together. He's the best friend a blind guy could ask for. He doesn't pity me so that's a plus.  After a few minutes we arrive at the doctor's office and he drops me off. I walk into the doctor's office, only to slip on what I'm guessing is a toy.

"Are you okay?" A voice I don't recognize asks.

"I'm fine." I snipped back, I'm guessing something happened because the voice screams a "no" from far. " where's Dorris?"

"What do you want? Can't you see I'm busy?" The voice asks angrily.

"No I can't see that you're busy. Can't you see that I'm fucking blind?" I shout back sitting down on a chair. "What happened to Dorris?"

"She's on vacation." The voice answers.

"That's too bad, I liked her."  I say quietly, after a while I can feel him staring "what are you staring at?"

After that I hear the voice sparking to my doctor on the phone and my doctor comes to guide me to his office. He starts telling me how the surgery will work and how I might not actually see or how I will see only fuzzy images and black and white.

He calls my therapist Dr. Evans because he wants me to fell comfortable. They start asking me if me if I want to carry on with the surgery and I immediately say yes. After a while of talking, Dr. Perkins and Evans walk me to the building's door and they give me directions to where I can hail a cab.

"Don't worry Dr. Perkins, I can take him. I was heading out anyway." The voice offers.

"I think I can manage Dorris." I huff out.

"My name is Zayn." I just ignore him and walk out.

While I'm waiting for a cab, he passes by me and I tell him goodnight. He says it back and goes on what I'm guessing is a bus. Hoping that he's watching, I wave goodbye before getting in the cab.
