"I regret it all. I really do, I swear, love. Please, let's fix this--please."

The long wooden table separated them. Warner's hands sat beside his plate that was full with food, folded into fists. His vibrant green eyes were pleading as he stared down at Juliette.

"I didn't do anything to ruin us." The first words Juliette had spoken all morning. "I don't need to put up the effort to fix this."

"You told me three months ago that you loved me." Warner's eyes were wide. "If you still do, you would put up the effort to fix our relationship."

Juliette took the last bite of her food, gathering the papers that she was reading over. The papers for a new world; a world that she would build. She moved her chair away from the dining table, turning to leave.

"I love you," Warner said, stopping her. "I love you, so much. I lied when I said I didn't. I lied, love." His eyes were piercing. "Please, love. If you won't put forth the effort to fix the mess I made, then let me."

Juliette was not prepared as Warner got up, treading to the chair that was closest to hers. Hesitantly, he placed the hand on top of hers. She didn't move away. Their eyes met and the silver lined Juliette's made Warner hurt. "I'll fix us," he said. "I promise."
