The Bad Boy is Back

When I walked in class, there was an unfamiliar buzz of talk. My classmates were on Snapchat looking at someone's story only I couldn't make out who, but it was obviously a guy. Mr. Crewman wasn't in his chair and ready to bore everyone to death. I mean it's great and all, not to having to deal with him at 7:20 in the morning, but it seems like something's up.

Brooklyn quickly gestured with her hands for me to sit next to her with a sense of urgency, adding to the anticipation.

"Hey guys." I spoke, setting down my bookbag and taking the empty seat next to Olivia which was to the left of Alex.

"What's going on? What's everyone talking about? And Mr. Crewman isn't even here. He's always here." I asked.

Brooklyn answered," Kiah's here." I looked at her in disbelief. Alex nodded, confirming the impossible.

"Kiah's here? Like here, here? Like in as in this building here?" I asked, shocked that the notorious bad boy was actually on campus, more of that he wasn't in the juvenile detention center.

"Yeah. I guess he got out of the juvenile detention center on good behavior, so he served 6 months instead of 1 year." Alex said.

"Yeah, look." She pulled out her iPhone and got to Snapchat. She showed me the story of Kiah where he states that he's making a grand entry back to Trinity High by re-enrolling today, and how he got out early of the juvenile detention center.

Alex further elaborated, "Yeah, and the principal, Mr. Wetherbee is with Kiah and his new homeroom teacher, Mr. Crewman, re-enrolling him today."

"So now he's just going to be in our class? " I asked, looking at them. I mean he was hot and stuff, but he was bad news.

"I guess so." Alex validated with a shrug as a frown grew on my face.

"How does he destroy a faculty car and get out on good behavior?" I asked.

"Exactly my point. Even if he came to all his classes this semester, it won't make up for all the credits he's missed from 1st semester. He'll have to go to summer school this summer for sure. " Brooklyn explained.

Mr. Crewman interrupted the class by opening the door, causing everyone to immediately scatter back to their seats and put their phones away.

Behind him was Kiah King with a smirk on his face, the bad boy of Trinity High dressed in his casual dark black T-shirt and thin jeans, and of course his leather black jacket like it was the 1980s, walking with power in his every step like he owned the place. The cheerleaders were practically drooling all over the sight of Mr. Legendary himself.

Everyone watched him as he walked up to the empty seat next to me.

"Hey, is this seat taken sweetie ?" He spoke smoothly, trying to impress me with his perfect smile as he pointed at the empty seat.

"Mine won't be if you call me sweetie again." I said bitterly.

"Ooh. Feisty. I like it." He gave me a mischievous smile with a chuckle, clearly seeming amused with my reaction to his "charm".

"I'm not going to be one of those little trophy girls you win can over; like them." I said, gesturing to the cheerleaders.

The cheerleaders shot sharp daggers at me and scoffed as Kiah sat down in the open seat in next to me.

He slimmed down in his chair and put his hands behind his head and kicked up his combat boots on the wooden desk.

Mr. Crewman walked to the board and once again began refreshing our young minds about genes, mitosis, and the different parts of the cell. Great! Moments of my life that I am never getting back.
