Today was just an ordinary day like any other. But it wasn't sunny though, nope, it was raining. But it was the kind of rain that I found soothing and peaceful. I stared out of the window from my bedroom in the NEST Base. I was a soldier there, working with the Autobots alongside my cousin, William Lennox. I was pretty good friends with all the Autobots, especially Optimus, Bee, Skids, Mudflap, Ironhide and Ratchet. My favourite of them all was of course the mighty Prime. He'd take me for many drives into the city so that I could go and buy stuff, he'd keep an eye on me during missions and make sure I was okay, sometime he'd even come and do some target practice in the firing range with me. I knew he was just trying to be a good friend and comrade, but I only wish it could've been something more. More than just friends between us. I stared at the rain drops slowly trickling down the window one by one until they hit the bottom and fell down. Sighing, I rested my chin in the palms of my hands and let my H/C hair fall beside my face, framing it in the H/C locks. As I slowly began to close my eyes, I heard loud noises and banging coming from down the hallway near the Autobots main hangar. I rose from my spot crossed legged on the edge of my soft bed and ventured down to investigate the racket. When I got there I was met with two guilty faces of Skids and Mudflap, in the midst of fighting or arguing about something. I rose my eyebrow at them and they both lowered their arms in unison and calmed down.
"What hell were you two doing?" I sighed and crossed my arms against my small/medium/large chest, "It's almost midnight, shouldn't you be recharging for tomorrow?" Their faces dropped and looked the guiltiest I've ever seen them.
"We were arguing about what to do about a certain something a certain bot told us," Skids replied, shaking his head.
"We didn't know if we should tell or not," Mudflap continued.
"Well, if you were told not to tell, then you shouldn't tell, it's not your secret to spread," I smiled, "Look, if you two just go and recharge, I won't tell Optimus you were both up late and that's the reason you're tired and slow tomorrow, deal?"
"Deal!" They both replied, transforming and driving off to recharge in their rooms. I let out a breath of relief and left the hangar and slumped back to my room. I grabbed a pair of my military boots, some black jeans and a black jacket with my F/C tank top underneath. I left my room and headed for the exit out of the base. I felt the rain hit my head softly and trickle down my cheeks and soak my jacket and jeans. I just stood there. Outside, in the rain, eyes closed, facing up into the sky with my arms out. I was brought out of my peaceful thoughts by the honk of a truck horn which I knew all to well. I turned around to see Optimus's alt form behind me and I smiled before walking up to him and patting the door.
"Hey there big guy. What're you doing out here?" I asked as I opened the door and got in, sitting in the passenger seat.
"I could ask you the same question F/N," He replied back through the radio as he turned his engine on.
"Well, I like the rain. I find it peaceful and soothing. So I decided to come outside to think," I replied.
"What were you thinking about?"
"Just a certain bot," I smiled as we began to drive off towards the city. This is the reason why I loved being a soldier at the NEST Base, I knew the Autobots and was able to go on drives with some of them on the odd occasions, considering I had access to lots of things like my cousin.
"Who is this certain bot you were thinking about?" He asked with what sounded like curiosity with a little disappointment mixed in. I wonder why that is? I fidgeted uncomfortably in my seat as I glanced out the window at the still slowly, softly falling rain drops.
"Well, he's a very caring bot. He's my friend. He always looks after me. He's really fun when he wants to be and he's very brave," I sighed. He must've sensed it was a touchy or uncomfortable subject because what he said next really surprised me.
"Hey, if you don't feel comfortable telling me, then you don't have to. Just know I'm always here for you, I'll help you with whatever you need," He replied.
"Thanks Optimus. If only you knew it was you," I smiled and mumbled the last bit. If only... He hummed in response and continued to drive in the rain. I averted my eyes to the outside and noticed it was still pretty dark out and the rain was still calmly falling from the clouds in the sky above. I tapped my fingers on the window to the sound of the droplets falling onto the glass. After 20 minutes more of a silent yet peaceful drive, we arrived back at base to see nobody else was awake. All the other soldiers that stayed at the base were asleep and all the other Autobots were recharging. I got out of Optimus and stood there smiling like an idiot as he transformed into Cybertronian form and knelt down in front of me. I giggled at the closeness of him and his hot breath that tickled my now rosy cheeks. I pressed my lips to his face plate before saying goodnight and leaving to head off for a well needed sleep.
~3rd Person POV~
Optimus stood up after the small human femme left to go sleep and he walked off to his room to recharge, still holding a servo to his faceplate where she'd kissed him only moments ago. He smiled at the memory that he'd cherish forever. Hopefully one day he could call her his...
