Sarah's P.O.V
It is now night time of August Fourth, also the middle of the second week.
Corban set up the pallet.
"I will sleep on the pallet this time." Corban announced before going to the bathroom. I heard the water hit the tub a few moments later.
Ever since I woke up, Corban hadn't talked to me unless he needed to. It seemed as if he was avoiding me.
I pulled back the covers and laid down for the night.
Raven was in her room blaring music. Thankfully, the music was muffled in our room, allowing easy sleep.
Raven couldn't keep her eyes of one of the guards. His hair was red and eyes a mixture of blue and green. Literally one was blue the other was green. He was eighteen and six foot three. I still have not figured out his name.
I laid my head on the pillow, relaxing.
The water in the bathroom shut off. I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep.
Corban opened the door and stepped out, making sure I was asleep before getting dressed.
He sat on the bed. He was so close, I could feel his body heat radiating off of him.
He dragged a fingertip down my cheek to my neck. Then stopped and got up.
"Corban, are you ok?" I opened my eyes in time to see him tense.
"I'm fine, just been tired lately. Why do you ask?"
"Well you have been avoiding me ever since I woke up." I responded to his question.
"No, I haven't..." He trailed off.
I turned onto my side as he laid down on the pallet, facing him.
"What were you doing earlier?" Corban stayed tense.
"You had something on your cheek." He responded.
"My neck..." I trailed off.
He nodded, suddenly going quiet.
''I'm going to bed." Corban threw the cover over his head.
"It's freezing in here.'' I shivered.
"The boys are fixing the heater right now. Should work by tomorrow." He threw the cover off his head. Corban's hair was like a fluff ball now.
"Can I lay up there? The floor is very cold." He asked.
'Y-yeah." I suddenly started to feel shy.
He got up and brought the covers with him. With the covers laid over top of the others, he crawled under.
My body moved on it's own as I cuddled up to his back.
Corban froze.
"W-what are y-you doing?" He asked.
"I'm cold." He groaned and turned on his side, facing me.
Corban wrapped his arms around my stomach and pulled me closer. He buried his face in my hair, breathing in and relaxing.
I can never explain how safe I felt in his arms.
