Here it was, it was now in our hands. We all looked at each other grinning pretty stupidly. But we were happy at least.

"You ready?" Pete asked holding the case in his grip. I couldn't nod fast enough to let him know what I wanted but he got the message as he started to open the case. He did it so slowly that I almost took it from him and did it myself. I couldn't take my eyes of it and I was aware of the grin that had crept onto my face.

Moments after I looked up to see Pete and Patrick nodding at each other as Pete shut the case.

"So guys you're all sure about this right?" I could tell that he was a little scared and was just making sure that we still wanted to go through with this.

"Yeah sure man, it will be worth it. Anyway, maybe nothing will happen" This time it was Joe who spoke, he was only trying to calm Patrick's nerves. I saw a reassuring smile flash upon Patrick's face as Pete sealed the cuff to his wrist. This was it, he can't turn back now.

"Remember, the bird is the sign." Pete was getting us all on track for maybe the final time but I didn't quite understand what he was talking about.

"But how will we know if we've been caught?" I had to ask him as I was confused. How would he know? If they have caught him he probably isn't going to be able to let us know.

"Trust me, they'll let us know." I looked at Pete as he said it and he made it obvious that he didn't want me to ask anymore questions, so I didn't. I still don't understand but I think it's best to let this settle as I don't want to upset him.

"So Patrick you will be leaving first. We can't all leave together, it wouldn't be safe." What he was now saying made sense. People will get suspicious and we could all get caught if we left together. Silence glossed over us until Patrick moved and picked up the case.

"Good luck buddy." Joe gave Patrick a brotherly hug as he said his goodbye.

"Catch you later stumpy." I waved from across the table, wanted to keep it brief. I didn't want to upset Patrick either so I'll leave a short goodbye. He turned to Pete who was looking quite cautious.

"I'll be fine Pete. You know I can do this and I'll be careful." Patrick was trying to reassure him but I don't think it was working.

"Be careful. You know what they can do." Pete warned him as he hugged him goodbye. I didn't understand but I guess they know more than I do. To be honest I'm not too sure I want to find out what they know.

"Don't worry. We will save rock and roll." And with that, he was gone. Now I just hope he makes it, I believe he can.
