A fancy, blue car pulled up to the front of the house and Chloe waved ecstatically from the window. I grabbed my coat and hurried outside. I threw open the passenger door and hopped in the back.

Chloe grinned at me. "Hi! You ready for this?"

"No," I sighed, buckling myself in. My stomach felt like I had a cold brick in it. I was not at all ready for this adventure.

"Great! No one ever is and it's better that way! Momma," she tapped her mom's shoulder, "don't forget we gotta pick up Jess and Brooks!"

"Course, Chloe." her mother nodded. She had thick, blonde hair, grey eyes, glasses, and a genuine smile. "Nice to meet you, Maria."

"Nice to meet you too, Mrs. Scott."

She smiled at me and Chloe grinned. "So, we'll get there and hang out and play video games and help Mom 'til dinner's ready. Then we eat dinner, have two hours to pretty each other up and chill. Then we'll dance, have a second dinner, presents at some point, and Christmas carolling! So, yeah. It'll be fun."

"Yeah, does sound fun."

We pulled up in front of a brick house and Jess ran out, nearly got knocked over by the wind, slipped on a patch of ice, and then just about fell into the car. Tiaz followed much less disastrously. Jess climbed in the front and Tiaz hopped into the back behind us.

We then parked in front of a white house and Brooks came out, much more gracefully than Jess. He hopped into the seat next to me, shivering. His brown curls were wind tousled and his cheeks were flushed from the cold air.

"Thanks for picking me up, Misses Scott," he murmured.

I stared out the front window, forcing myself not to blush. He looked cute.

He took off his coat to reveal he was wearing a nice suit. His blue eyes sparkled behind his fogged glasses and his freckles stood out against his reddened cheeks. Chloe nudged me in the ribs. "You look nice, Brooks." She smirked at me. "What do you think, Maria?"

"Y-Yeah. N-nice."

Jess turned around in her seat and Mrs. Scott glanced in the rearview mirror. "Yeah! You look fantastic!" She grinned, obviously oblivious.

He blushed and my heart flipped. When he blushes, the tips of his ears turn red. "Th-Thanks guys. My aunt wanted me to wear it." I forced myself not to blush, glaring at Chloe. She smirked.

We soon pulled into her garage and piled out. She lived in a beautiful, mahogany mansion decorated with a bagillion Christmas lights. We piled into their large kitchen and I looked around in awe. Chloe's house was huge. Her family had a lot of money. I don't think I'd ever been more surprised in my life.

"Why don't you take your friends to the gaming room? Your father texted and said Zachary, Aadesh, and Rose are here."

"Sweet!" She rushed off with us trailing behind her. We went through a hallway to a big door. On the other side of the door came a muffled giggling. "Zach? Rose?" She grabbed the handle and turned it. She started to push the door open. "What the heck are you two-- AH!"

As the door swung open a bucket of water fell, drenching her and clattering onto the floor. Jess, Brooks, Tiaz, and I all jumped back, startled. A couple long, black tendrils of something were on Chloe.

Zachary and an orange haired girl were rolling on the floor laughing.

Chloe suddenly screamed, flailing her arms. "Ah! Snakes!" she shrieked, wildly flailing her arms and freaking out. Aadesh ran over and flung the rubber snakes off of her. We all started to laugh and Aadesh threw us a dirty look.
