A M E T H Y S T

I groan immediately. Of course Miranda would have seen that, out of all things. Where was she when I got a piece of glass stuck in my foot, hmm? Jesus christ. I offer her a sheepish smile, a light blush covering my cheeks.

Miranda hands me an apron like thing, and I throw it over my head, while walking into the backroom behind the counter to put my bag down. I see the coffee maker on, so I take one of the cups and fill it up, adding creamer.

Miranda follows me in, and I take the time to roll my eyes and huff, being over-dramatic is my specialty. She chuckles and slouches against the flimsy table beside me, wiggling her eyebrows at me in a suggestive way.

"He isn't my boyfriend." I finally say, turning to give her a stern look before making my way out of the room, leaving her behind me in my dust.

Bringing the cup with me, I walk back into the front, leaving over the counter while sipping my semi-hot cup of sweet coffee, closing my eyes for a brief moment to appreciate the taste, in pure bliss.

I turn to Miranda as she comes around the counter as well, leaving sideways while facing me to open her mouth. I prepare myself for her unpredictable words, getting my eyes ready to roll with attitude.

"Mhm, su-"

The ring of the bell sets my attention off balance, and I look up to the run down door that probably needs to be fixed. My eyes meet those of some dark haired boy, with broad shoulders and squinty eyes.

My eyes glance over him, seeing him in a sleeveless shirt and jean shorts, and I notice that he has the same tattoo that Seth does on his bicep. I force a smile onto my face, pushing my curiosity back.

I don't need to be so snooty towards customers, I'm trying to keep this job and I do not need to lose customers over my stupid curiosity. I wait for him to look around and grab what he needs, trying my best to act uninterested and unbothered.

It's only when I see the box of tampons slide across the counter toward me, that I glance up at the boy and lock eyes with him. All I can think about is what the fuck does he need these for?

I clear my throat and awkwardly ring up his item, feeling his gaze piercing the side of my face. I can almost feel the challenge in his gaze, begging me to ask him why he is trying to purchase tampons in a freaking corner store.

I don't though, I just bag his item, mumble to him his amount due, and slip the receipt in the bag. He lets out a big sigh and signs the extra receipt, sliding it over the counter along with the money due.

I glance at him quickly before putting the cash in the register and giving him his change, thanking him for coming by and awkwardly watching as he leaves. Right before he steps out of the entrance, he turns to me.

"Do you know Seth Clearwater?" He asks, his voice is deep, but not as deep as Seth's. I furrow my eyebrows and nod slightly, confused. But it makes sense, they have the same tattoo, in the exact same place.

Maybe its part of that whole mythological thing Seth was going on about. I mean, I can't deny it or anything because well, who can turn into a wolf? But, its still hard to believe.

He only grumbles something before swiftly making his way out of the store. I groan and roll my eyes when I see Miranda poke her head out of the break room, wiggling her eyebrows at me once again.

"Just," I mumble, turning my body to face her completely, "kill yourself."

She pouts and crosses her arms, walking out of the room completely.

"That's not very nice."

I shrug and turn back around, groaning into my hands. Today is going to be a very, very long day.
