~Widowmaker~

Sitting in my room at Talons current operational outpost, one single thing ran through my mind. It wasn't the latest assassination on the Omnic. It wasn't that I was almost caught.

It was who almost caught me.

That little bundle of annoyance has been on my mind constantly. Why? I wouldn't be able to answer. The low chuckle of Reyes is the only thing that disturbed my thoughts, which were trying to keep themselves occupied with the maintenance of Widows Kiss. I re-lubricated all of the moving parts, remembering a simple saying.

"Take care of your weapon and it'll take care of you." My husband said, sharpening his dive knife.

"Cheri, why would I ever need to remember that?" I inquired.

"You never know when a weapon might save your life." He responded.

With whom that conversation was with, I couldn't remember.

"Widowmaker." The hooded man greeted, leaning against the doorframe as if it was the most comfortable thing in the world.

"Yes, Reaper?" I addressed, inserting the mechanical slide back into the rifle.

"Overwatch. They're-"

"You didn't think I noticed?" I stood and cut him off, not currently in the mood to be reprimanded. "Maybe if that job at the museum was more coordinated, they wouldn't know about me. Or you. Or us. They'd think we were dead." I shrugged, replacing the rifle onto it's equipment rack before removing my headset and earpiece.

"And maybe if you had shot when you were ordered, that girl wouldn't have noticed who you are. That's three already, Ameliè." He spits, a hostile edge to his voice. I roll my eyes and scoff, removing the hair tie which holds my ponytail together.

"The Omnic's dead. The operation successful. I don't see the big problem, patron."

"Watch your tone."

"Then watch your tongue. Are you here to continue ridiculing me, or are you here to tell me something useful?"

"Kill the girl." He states, with that, he sinks into the ground in a pile of smoke. I cough, crossing to the light switch to turn on the ceiling fan while crossing to my desk to turn that fan on.

Kill the girl? That'll be my guilty pleasure.

I walk straight to my apartment within the Agent Housing units in Gibralter. Currently, it was just me and Winston, and I had no desire to fill out any paperwork. He's dead because of me, and now, she's gone because of me. I collapse onto my bed, exhausted, without bothering to eat. I yawn, taking off my boot and throwing the other at the switch to conceal myself in pitch black. With that, I fall asleep.

Ameliè and I walk through the forest, her sticking closely to the trail in which I lead her on, grabbing her hand and essentially dragging her through the forest. The lake was just ahead, and I could hear the chirping of crickets and splashes as fish jumped out of the water. Finally, we come upon the clearing, she stares upon the moon in a daze, it's light reflecting off her face, and showing me just how beautiful she really is.

"Lena..." She breathes, looking out at the water. I chuckle and sit, beckoning for her to sit next to me. She obliges, still in a daze.

"Figure you'd like it, love." I say, staring out at the water. What we were to do, I didn't know. Just that I wanted her to know where this spot was. That she could come here at any time to think. To relax.

"It's... Beautiful..." She mumbles, I smile.

"Just like you." I flirt, looking over at her. She glances back at me and my face heats up. "N-Not in A-!"

She giggles and places a finger to my lips to shush me. "You don't have to hide anything from me, Mrs. Oxton."

I blush even more, looking down. "I shouldn't feel this way about you... Not when... This goes against the natural order of things... We're both girls. You have a husband." I state, tearing up. She wipes my tears kindly, pulling me close and laying us both down, my head resting over her heart. I slowly calm with the sound- a fast, rythmitic thudding.

"You're heart... It's beating so-" she pulls my chin up to her, and places a sweat kiss upon my lips.

Now her heart only beats twice a minute. Never again, will Ameliè come back.
