My baggy eyes looked up at the figure hovering over me. I thought it was another labcoat or whatever.

It wasn't.

It was an intruder, here to save my life.

My senses came back, and I realized sirens were going off as my eyes widened.

"So, here we all are!"

"Um.."

"Yes?"

"Why.. did you save us..?" I murmured. "Ah! N--Not that I'm---not that I, uh-- I--I'm really glad that--"

"I got lonely."

"H..Huh?"

"I've been wandering around the Wards for months, you know. I escaped a few months ago. ...It's been lonely. ... so, I decided to make an organization! So, I started with some artificial half-ghouls like me!"

"..."

"I also have this little kiddo, who I happened to come across," he grabbed the little ghoul. His mask was just like the person who had saved us, only a moon instead of a sun. "He was out in the cold, homeless. His codename's Little Moon. Mine is Sun, or Sun King. What about you all?"

"..."

Code..names..

...Because we're ghouls.

"Or well, I guess you wouldn't have codenames or masks, would you? Let's get you some then!"

"..."

This guy.. just jumps from one thing to the next..

"Before we get you guys masks though, we have two people to visit!" he grinned back at us. He'd taken his half-mask off, so we could clearly see all of his face. He had also taken off the kid's mask. He'd put the two masks in his backpack. I don't know why he trust us with his face..

But, he did save us..

I don't know about the other two, but I'm not planning to disobey or betray him any time soon..

Especially considering how powerful he must be.. to have gotten the three of us out of that h*ll..

"Here we are! Kosaka-san's place!"

Ko..saka..?

Knock, knock.

The door creaked open, a petite girl peaking out.

"Can I help you?"

"Yes! Can we come in?"

She looked over us all, "...Well.. I guess.." she let us in.

We all got settled in on her couch and floor, and the Sun began talking.

"So! It's come to my attention that we have a similar acquaintance -- Touka-chan?"

Touka?

All these random names..

The girl gasped, "You know Touka-chan?!! Do you know where she is?!!"

"Mmmn.." he cocked his head slightly, "Sorry, not really. There are a few people's locations that I'm interested in, and she's one of them. Anyway, I didn't come here to inform you of her location, sorry. I came here to inform you of her SPECIES."

"Huh? Species? Isn't she human?"

"One would think, right~?" he rolled his head around, "But she's actually a ghoul."
