First, I would like you all to know that I am a highly disorganized person. I am also 85% sure I have ADD when it comes to writing and updating.
My skills include; rocking back and forth, tearing my hair out, crying over a blank page, and starting so many stories I lose count but never finishing them.
I also suffer from depression. Now, this is not meant as a tragic back story or a reason for people to feel sorry for me. I tell you this because depression affects everyone differently.
For me, it means no motivation. I lose the will to continue my works very easily. This usually means I will scrap my stories or just stop updating them.
It also means that, while I love your stories and would normally comment the second you post a chapter, I might let it sit for long periods of time. This is in no way supposed to mean I dislike your works or you as a person. It simply means I've lost interest in the story for a temporary amount of time. Please don't take my absences to heart. I will get back to you in time.
I do not like asking for help or attention, but I think I should let you guys know that one "How are you holding up" or "I was thinking about you" goes a long way. And not just for me.
So if you know someone who's going through anything - not just depression - keep that in mind. Just check in with them every once in a while. It may not mean much to you, but it means the world to someone else.
On a lighter note: I adore all things Harry Potter, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Supernatural, Mortal Instruments, Ladybug, and Psych. So if anyone writes or finds a good fanfic to any of these, send me a link. It is much appreciated. (I have many more fandoms, so even if the fic isn't one of the above examples, send it anyway.)
