You had never had the best life on the surface. Your 'parents', if you can even call them that, absolutely hated you just because you were... different. No one at any of your schools accepted you, not even the teachers. You were alone, for a very, very long time. But that's all in the past now. None of it matters any longer. Soon, you would be nothing more then a feint memory. You stood just in front of the giant, gaping hole in the side of Mt. Ebott. Heaving a heavy sigh, you took a step forward...

And Fell.

You remember falling. Falling for, when seemed like forever. Finally, you hit the ground. It was.. soft. Like a warm blanket. Almost... peaceful. Almost. You sat up, or tried to. Putting pressure on your legs and arms sent jolts of pain throughout your body, causing you to cry out in pain. Called out of help, and soon a pair of bony arms picked you up.
"SUCH A POOR HUMAN. DO NOT FRET, HUMAN! I, PAPYRUS, WILL HEAL YOU!... FIRST WE MUST PASS THROUGH THE RUINS, TO MY HOME! THEN I'LL HAVE YOU HEALED UP IN NO TIME!" The person, named Papyrus, practically shouted. Yet, despite the obvious discomfort from the yelling, you felt safe in his arms. He nuzzled into his chest, which felt rather bony like his arms. You eventually fell asleep to his humming.

When you woke up, you were resting on a bed. A plate of spaghetti greeting you from the floor. Reaching down, you grabbed the plate and took a bite... Needless to say, it was the best tasting spaghetti you've ever had. (Nice job Paps!) You headed out of the room, towards the sound of humming. Entering the living room, you saw a living, breathing skeleton. He saw seated on a chair, happily humming and reading about different types of pasta. You giggled having seen that.
"AH, THE HUMAN AWAKENS! YOU'VE BEEN ASLEEP FOR A WHOLE DANG DAY!! ARE YOU OKAY HUMAN? I KNOW HUMANS SLEEP FOR A WHILE BUT A WHOLE DAY IS JUST RIDICULOUS!" Papyrus shouted. It was a lot quieter then when you two first met though. "I'M GLAD YOUR INJURIES HAVE HEALED- ERR, MOSTLY. YOUR RIGHT ARM STILL SEEMS HEAVILY DAMAGED. TOO DAMAGED FOR EVEN MY HEALING TO POSSIBLY HELP WITH..." You waved off his sadness, apologising for that. After all, humans are different to monsters. Not everything will help both races. That spaghetti you were still eating did seem to help slightly though. Papyrus cackled slightly, then gave you a warm smile. It caused you to smile back, which was something you haven't done in quite a long time.

A few weeks later, you were growing more and more restless. The RUINS had grown rather small, now that you've learnt every puzzle and path in the whole place. Papyrus asked you to follow him, and so you did.
"AT THE END OF THIS CORRIDOR IS THE EXIT OF THE RUINS. I, OF COURSE, CANNOT STOP YOU IF YOU WISH TO LEAVE. BUT, I BEG OF YOU... IF YOU DO LEAVE, THEN MAKE SURE THAT THEY... SANS... DON'T KILL YOU. ALL THEY WANT IS TO TAKE YOUR SOUL AND BREAK THE BARRIER. MY BROTHER, SANS, HAS NO IDEA WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF HE DOES THAT! LAZYBONES... THERE'S SOMEONE WHO LIVES IN SNOWDIN, SHE AND HER BROTHER WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU I YOU DO LEAVE." Papyrus teared up slightly, taking you to a door. He stood in front of it. You teared up too, as his next words rang though your head.
"IF YOU DO WISH TO LEAVE, THEN... PROVE YOURSELF. PROVE THAT YOU ARE STRONG ENOUGH TO SURVIVE OUT THERE!!"

[Timeskip, since battles are hard to type like that. I just wanna get the RUINS over and done with tbh. #SavePapyrus]

The battle soon ended, with you and Papyrus sharing a tender hug.
"HUMAN, REMEMBER. IF YOU LEAVE... PLEASE DON'T COME BACK." He broke the hug, as you nodded. As we left, you whispered a quiet goodbye and made your way towards Snowdin.

You trudged through the cold snow, shivering like mad. You wish you had've taken up Papyrus' offer of a jacket, but it's too late now.
Soon, you reached a bridge. You stopped to peer down the chasm below. Footsteps approached from behind
"M i r r o r.  D o n ' t  y o u  k n o w  h o w  t o  g r e e t  a  n e w  p a l ?" The voice said. " T u r n  a r o u n d ,  a n d  s h a k e  m y  h a n d ." You turned around, as the figure extended it's hand to you. You went to accept the handshake, and...
