ROSS's POV:

"Mr. Lynch?"

I quickly wiped my eyes, sat up in my chair, and looked up at the doctor. "Is she alright," I choked out.

He smiled softly. "Yes. She's going to live."

I sighed of relief. "Oh my god! Can I see her?"

He nodded. "Of course. But you should know one thing before you go in."

I bit my lip. "What is it?"

He held my shoulder sadly. "She was stabbed in such a sensitive area. Even though she's stable and she's going to survive, she is now... Infertile."

My jaw dropped. "You mean--"

"Yes," the doctor said. "She is no longer able to give birth."

I looked down at the ground surprised. How? Why?

I looked up at the doctor for a slight moment. "Did you tell her?"

He nodded.

"How's she taking it?"

He sighed. "Why don't you just see for yourself? I'll take you to her room."

I nodded and stood up.

We started walking to her room.

LAURA's POV:

I feel... So dead.

I'm not dead, which is a good thing, but I'm not particularly healthy either.

The doctor... He said I'm now infertile.

I know what it means but I can't really put a grasp on it yet.

I know it means no more periods, no babies, but I'm still very shocked about this.

I heard a knock on he door to my room and I turned my head to see Ross walk through the door.

His cheeks were red and puffy and tears were in his eyes.

When I saw him crying, I started crying as well.

He walked up to me.

"Ross," I whimpered softly.

He smiled. "Laura."

He came up to me bed and held my hand.

"I told you you'd make it," he said.

I bit my lip. "I'm sorry I lost hope."

He traced circles on my hand. "You didn't lose hope. I mean, you are here after all."

I sniffled. "I love you."

He smiled. "I love you too."

I sat up on the bed and leaned up to put my arms around Ross.

I hugged him and he hugged back.

"You know," Ross pointed out. "I know you're infertile but I'll love you anyway."

My eyes widened. Oh my god. I completely forgot about ???!!

"Ross," I said with a small smile, still hugging him. "Once I get out of here, I need to show you someone I met yesterday."
