The Lonely Demon

~Part One~

Once upon a time there was a lake. It was the largest lake in the world. Larger than the largest ocean. On that lake there was an island. So small only one person can live there on it. This was all before humans exist of course and before the earth was created. 

A demon was banished on that island to live there. His crime no one knew and he would never speak of it. Forever marked as an outcast, he lived on his lonely island forever alone.

Why didn't he leave? Why didn't he try to swim to find a mainland? Why didn't he use his powers he had to escape? Why didn't he?
