No reply can be heard. Only the emptiness that seems so loud. So very loud.
The emptiness of it. Of being in here when she's not here. When I know, that she'll never, ever be here again.
I knew, but I didn't want to admit it. I didn't want it to be true.
My knees hit the ground, but this time I don't hear a sound. I don't hear anything, but my own mind screaming at me. It's so loud.
I cover my ears with my hands, but it doesn't stop. It won't stop.
"No. Please, no!"
You couldn't save her. You let her die! You'll never see her again!
I claw at my head, begging for it to stop. For the pain to go away.
"Stop!"
You let her die! How could you let her die?!
"No! I'm sorry!"
I open my eyes and see drops on the carpet from my tears. My body shakes as I realize what I've lost. What I'll never have again.
"No. No! No!"
How could this happen?! How?!
It feels as though I've been here for hours, slumped pathetically on the ground.
"Natsu?"
I freeze, and slowly lift my head.
My breath halts. Through the blur of my tears I see an outline of a person.
"Lucy!"
