~Prologue~
"Adam, run."
Those were the last words that came from his mothers mouth. The boy had always whimpered, screamed, kicked, bit, and thrashed at anyone except his mother and father if they tried to even touch him. Now, it was a life or death moment if anything touched him. The Aether was under attack, and the attackers only wanted one thing, and that thing was something his mother knew well. All the female could do was watch in deep sorrow as her son bolted out of the room and through the door. Her chest heaved one last time as blood poured freely down her body and the painful reality was crashing down around her as she died.
This thing they wanted was her son. The thing they wanted was the prince of the Aether.
Adam bolted out of the room and meets a predicament. He won't be able to get very far with his wings. His golden angelic wings were rounded to the size of a beach ball and compared to his mother's who had wings with a wingspan of a walk-in closet, that wouldn't get him very far. Adam was a very small child and for teaching Aether children to fly was like teaching a child to walk. But he had to try. He watched as the bridge to the portal room began to collapse, and the tower crumbled to his horror.
However, Notch must've been merciful to the little prince, because as the tower fell, it's tip rammed itself into the remains of the bridge, and stayed like that. Just leaning on the bridge. The boy eyes narrowed in determination as he ran faster to the bridge end, and took a leap of faith, his wings fluttering rapidly in fear as time seemed to slow. The small wings gave him some distance as he crashed onto the leaning balcony, hearing two large snaps as he did. He wrist and chest hurt as if they were on fire. It didn't help to slam into the back wall of the leaning side, hearing another loud snap as his ribs flamed with pain. He weakly made it to the collapsing portal that led to the...
'Oh what was it?!' He thought desperately. Oh, how he hated not knowing!! But it didn't matter at the moment. At the portals last flickers of light, he fell through the dimension door, and passed out in the void.
"He's a child Notch."
"I know that, but he did escape the Aether alone."
"But he is a CHILD."
"Which gives him all the more respect. This is what the prophecy foretold."
"I hate it when you're right."
"Give him time. For now, let the boy rest. He's been through quite the ordeal."
And with that, Sky woke up in a cold sweat.

Chapter 1He gasped clutching his chest in terror. He panted and looked around himself frantically, and panicked slightly when he saw a forest surrounding him. Then he realized he was camping with his friends Ty and Jason. He coughed slightly being sure not to wake his friends.
Friends....
That was a word he couldn't live without. Ty, Jason and the rest of the gang were the only people keeping him sane. After all, they were all he had left. He had no family, no relatives, nothing. He knew he was so blessed to have all that he did. An army, recruits that loved him and carried out his wills without hesitation, and well, everything! He didn't know what he would do if he lost them. He didn't even wanna think about it.
But what was that dream for? Well, some would say nightmares, but he called them dark memories. Truth be told, he had decided to forget it all. Forget his mother, forget his father, forget the Aether, forget EVERYTHING. He stared into the fire his friends were sleeping by, and thought.
"Why? Why now? That was ages ago! The Aether is in ruins, and always will be! I will never become what I was. I am Sky, not Adam." Sky muttered angrilly.
"Sky?" A familiar voice groaned. He turned to see a very sleepy Ty. "What are you doing up?"
"Nothing Ty. Don't worry about it. It was....a nightmare. Yeah, let's going with that..." Sky trailed off.
"Whatever you say. But get some sleep. We'll have to go back tomorrow." Ty shrugged and laid back down.
"Sure thing Ty." He sighed with a smile, hearing his friend snore softly. "Sure thing."
