Three months later...

Three months had passed, Kathy had received word that Richard is returning from his business trip for a small break. And of course, the first place he stopped by is Kathy's home. Kathy felt quite delighted to see Richard, and she informed him that she had decided to resign from her job to focus on helping out her Aunt Linda. At first, Richard felt disappointed, because he, of course was her client, but Kathy informed Richard she will always be and remain his friend no matter what.

"Say, Kat, I was wondering if you can join me to go to Italy, since I'm on my vacation? If, of course you don't mind?" asked Richard. "Oh would I? Could I?! Oh, Richard I would love to go with you to Italy!! I've been wanting to go for the longest time! First, I will check with my Aunt Linda! I hope she doesn't mind!" said Kathy, cheerfully. "We'll go talk to her together!" said Richard. And so, both Kathy and Richard met up with Linda in the TV room, and they told her of their plans. "Will you be alright while we're gone, Aunt Linda?" asked Kathy.

"Of course, I will be find and dandy! I'm going to hire a visiting nurse to look after me while you're gone!" said Linda. And so now it was settled. Now they had received Linda's blessing of going to Italy, Kathy immediately began packing her things right away. Two days later, Richard and Kathy leave to Italy. Once they arrived there, the first thing they did was getting settled in their hotel. Once that was done, the two went to explore Rome, and Kathy gasped in awe as she looked at the amazing sites and landscapes.

Three more days during their stay there, the two attending a festival, and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves, as they soaked up the excitement, the dancing and the music. And that same night, Richard and Linda sat in a little Cafe' and they talked. "Kat, there is something I want to say to you, and I want to say it now, in front of everyone here! You're the most beautiful ad kindest woman I ever met! And I am wondering if you are ready to take that step into us going steady?" asked Richard.

When Kathy heard this, she just sat there, her mouth dropped open, not sure on what to say. But instead of accepting Richard's offer, she rejected him! "I'm sorry, Richard, I can't. I know I've done this way too many times before, but I feel that I am not ready yet!" said Kathy. What in the hell are you doing, Kat? Why can't you say yes, you idiot!! Kathy's thought raged. "Kat, I don't understand! You had resigned from your job! You are taking full care of your Aunt! You have a lot of time left now! Why? Why are you doing this?" asked Richard.

"Richard, you know of my past, it's just, my heart is still dampened from my past relationships, and it still needs more time for healing!" Kathy had found herself saying. Unfortunately, Richard had enough of being toyed with. He had been rejected three times by Kathy, and this time, he had enough. Suddenly, Richard stood up, as he glared at her, showing signs of hurt and betrayal in his eyes. "Kathy, come on! We're leaving! We're going home!" said Richard, darkly. "Richard!" protested Kathy. But Richard said no more, as they walked in silence back to the hotel.

In fact, Richard was so upset that he requested a another room, further away from Kathy. He also had requested a flight of sending Kathy back home. "Richard, what are you doing? You're not coming back with me?" asked Kathy, as they arrived at the airport the following morning. "Kathy, I'm not leaving. I'm staying here. Just go! I don't care if I ever see you again!" said Richard, darkly. "Richard! You really don't mean that!" cried out Kathy. "I mean every word of it! JUST GO!!" barked Richard, hotly.

Sadly, Kathy boarded the flight back home, as she sadly climbed aboard the airplane, tears running down her face. Three more days later, Kathy arrived at home, and she entered the house, her shoulders slumped, and looking very tired. Linda approaches her niece, looking at her with great concern. "Kat, are you alright? Where is Richard? Why isn't he with you?" asked Linda. "We ended our friendship. Aunt Linda, I rejected him, again!" said Kathy, guiltily. "Oh, Kat! Why? Richard is a very decent man! Why did you reject him again for?" asked Linda, the tone of her voice in disappointment.
