I woke up in a car with shattered windows and a dead body of a woman in the passenger seat. I couldn't feel any pain, but blood was oozing from the wound in my head. My mother was dead beside me. It was a miracle for me to stay alive in a flipped car that had fallen from a cliff.
I went outside and called for help. Thank goodness, an ambulance arrived and carried my mom. They didn't see me so I was left behind.
I was all alone now. I didn't know where to go. My mom was the last family I had. After the accident, everybody seemed to ignore me. Maybe because "the Michael Reed" had nothing. I had nothing but wounds on my body. Now that my mom had died, I had no one to provide me with everything I wanted.
As I was walking, I met a beautiful young woman. She looked at me intently. Suddenly, her eyes were filled with fear, but gained her composure after a while. Then, she walked towards me.
"What happened to you? How long have you been lost?" She asked.
"I was in a car accident two days ago. My mom died and I have nowhere to go."
"Two days, huh. You've been lost for two days."
She seemed to be thinking of something I couldn't guess.
"I'm Alex. Alex Miller. And you're?"
"Michael. Michael Reed."
"Nice to meet you Michael. You can go with me if you want."
I followed her in a small house with no trace of luxury or fortune. An old woman was sitting on a chair mounted on rockers. Her eyes were all white that made me conclude that she was blind.
"Alex, why did you bring that man here?" The old woman asked. She felt our presence.
"I have to help him, Auntie."
"Then get rid of him as soon as possible."Get rid of me? What did that mean?
Alex brought me in a small room. The room was dark. When she turned the lights on, I saw her face more vividly. The fair skin of hers glimmered. As her small brown eyes sparkled, her beautiful face was accentuated. I seemed to develop a liking to her.
Alex sat beside me at the edge of her bed.
"Do your wounds hurt?" She asked.
"No, it all dried up.""You said your mom died in the accident, but you-----"
"Survived." I interposed.
"And you feel alone?"
I nodded."Can you hold my hand?" She pleaded.
My hands passed through hers. I couldn't hold her hands.
"What's happening?"
"You're dead. You died two days ago in the same accident. I know because I can see through my third eye."
