Your Hand in Mine

Hi! Welcome to my first ever oneshot!
Basically every chapter/oneshot will be named after a song title I like and I feel fits the plot-line.

Plot:
You are Jughead's girlfriend and you and the gang decide to go camping for a weekend.

"Archie Andrews get back here!!" I shout as I chase the laughing ginger down the street to Pops.
We were on our way to meet Betty, Veronica, Kevin, and Jughead at Pops, and originally going to race each other, but he took off before we said go and cheated.
Finally I reach pops, breathing heavy and laughing, Archie just standing there grinning, barely breathing hard at all.
"Curse..... you.... cheater..." I pant out as I let out a breathy laugh
Archie shrugs "not my fault you're slow!" He laughs and ducks as I swing at his head with my hand at his retort
"Whatever" I say flipping my y/h/c hair in a joking prissy manner.
"I'm over it. Now let's get food and see the others" I say
"Sure sure y/n" Archie says smiling as he opens the door, the small bell jingling happily as we step into the '50s retro burger joint.
"Guys! Over here!" Veronica shouts to us, waving at us from a booth that she, Betty, Kevin, and Jughead are all sitting at.
"Hey guys!" I say as I skip over, smiling at them all, sitting down beside Veronica, Archie sitting across from me next to Betty. "Hi y/n, Archie" they say, save for Jughead who is typing away on his computer.
"So what's the plan for today? It's Saturday so we have today and tomorrow and also Monday because there's no school, so we have 3 days to do whatever we want" Betty says, stirring her strawberry milkshake that's sitting in front of her, half-full.
"Ooo what if we go camping!" Ronnie says clapping and grinning.
"Yes! I'm totally in" Kevin says, also grinning. Archie shrugs and nods
"I'm game" he says while lazily tossing an arm across the back of the bench.
"I love it!" Betty says smiling. Everyone looks at me and Jughead
"What about you guys?" Archie says. I lay my chin lazily in my hand as I rest my elbow on the table
"eh, sure why not, it's not like I have anything better to do" I say smiling, then look to Jughead who's sitting between Betty and the window, still completely immersed in his writing.
"Juggie?" I say "do you want to go camping?" He finally looks up, seeing everyone looking expectantly at him.
"Ummm, camping isn't really.. my thing" he says furrowing his eyebrows slightly as he takes a drink of his coffee that's sitting in front of him.
His answer is met with a chorus of groans and "but Jughead!"s. I get up and run to the booth behind him, Betty, and Archie, poking my head between him and Betty, making a sad face and puppy eyes
"But Juggieeeee you have to go, please?" I rest my chin on his shoulder.
His face turns slightly pink at the close proximity of our faces, making Veronica and Kevin share a look, both obviously fangirling.
"Y/n, you know I don't like camping" Jughead says to me, sighing.
"I know I know Jug, but you gotta come with, it'll be super fun, and only for 2 nights! Plus there will be s'mores, and campfires, and it'll just be amazing" I say, my chin still on his shoulder as I sit in the booth behind him. He groans and puts his head in his hands
"Fine, 2 nights only, and those better be the best goddamn s'mores I've ever tasted" Jughead says, peeking back at me and giving his small adorable smile.
"Yay!! Thank you Juggie!" I say and hug him, my arms wrapping around his shoulders from behind in a hug as I grin and kiss his cheek, everyone else cheers. Jughead rolls his eyes and smiles, putting his hands over mine, kissing them lightly, before going back to his writing.

//TIMESKIP TO CAMPSITE, SAME DAY //

With Archie driving his dad's truck, we made it to the camp site by early evening, the sun still up enough for us to set up.
There hadn't been enough room in the cab of the truck, so Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Kevin all squished into the space, with Jughead and I in the bed of the pickup with all the camping gear. We both laid down so we couldn't be seen by cops.
During that time, we had been laying on a few blankets in the back, bundled up in our hoodies as the cool air blew over us.
I had gotten pretty cold so when I began to chatter a bit, Jughead just opened his arms and wrapped them around me, his body temperature surprisingly warm. So between the rumbling of the truck and Jughead's heat and heartbeat thrumming in my ear, I fell asleep.

"Y/n.. love cmon you gotta wake up, we're here.." a voice said in my ear, I groaned and stretches slightly, cuddling into my pillow. Wait. My pillow. Why is it warm? And moving? "Y/n, earth to Juliet" the voice said while chuckling "you have to get up now so we can set the tents up while there's still light" I slowly opened my eyes, just then noticing how I was clinging to Jughead like a koala, our faces very close. I smile sleepily up at him.
"Hey cutie" I say, my voice slurring slightly from still being half-asleep.
"Hey there sleepy-head" he says with his adorable smile. I shift so I can kiss him, my hand moving to the side of his face. He kisses back instantly, one hand cupping my face gently while the other holds my waist, rolling me so I'm partially laying on top of him, making me giggle mid-kiss.
"We should stop, imagine if Ronnie saw this, we would never hear the end of it" I say, hovering over Jughead, our faces close. I brush some of his bangs away from his face.
"Oh no you will not" a voice says behind us. I turn and see Veronica standing at the back of the truck, she opening the tail gate and grinning.
"You guys are just so cute, I can't!" she squeals while smiling hugely.
I roll my eyes and turn back to Jughead, kissing him once more before rolling off him and sliding off the truck's bed.
"I'll be right back, gonna run to the bathroom" I say as I gesture to the bright blue port-o-potties that are nestled between some trees, a few yards away.

When I get back I see that everything was unloaded, and that the guys were setting up their tent, while Betty and Veronica were working on the girls tent. I walked over and started to help them set up.
Once everything was set up and put away in either the truck or the tents, Ronnie clapped.
"Okay! Time to set up a fire pit, get a fire going and some dinner cooking! Who wants to do what?"
"I can start on food" Betty says, shifting her weight as she smiles.
"Oh I'll help, I got this woodsy cooking this down to an art form!" Kevin says with a grin. Veronica nods and turns to Archie
"Want to start on making the fire pit? We just need to make a ring of rocks really" she says, Archie nods, then turns to Jughead and I, both of us standing to the side as we watch everyone else.
"That means you guys are getting firewood, don't stray too far" Archie says with a lopsided smile. Jughead and I nod and I flash them both a grin as we turn to start to go look for firewood, me taking Jugheads hand.
"And no funny business you two!" Veronica shouts after us. I laugh as Jughead smiles
"No promises!" I shout back over my shoulder, as my Juggie and I wander off into the trees, me giggling and him shaking his head as he laughs quietly, his hand in mine.

Okay, so, it's um... really really gross and bad. Hopefully they will get better as time goes on? Who knows man xD
