Plot:

It's New Years and Veronica is throwing a massive party. You have liked your best friend Jughead for a long time now, and are hoping for something good to come from this night.

"C'mon guys, it's New Years! We have to have a party. Plus with everything going on with Jason, I think people need to forget for a little bit." Veronica says as we sit at our lunch table. She was trying to convince everyone that she should host a New Years party for all of Riverdale High.

"I think it's an amazing idea, plus I never turn down a reason to get wasted and dance." Kevin says as he eats a bite of his lunch with a grin. Veronica nods with a smug look.

"C'mon guys, please? It's freaking New Years! And anyway my mom is going on a trip for that week and so I'll have the house to myself." Ronnie say, looking expectantly at everyone in turn; me, Archie, Betty, and lastly Jughead. I roll my eyes but smile.

"sure why not, I'm game. plus it will give me an excuse to wear my new dress" I say with a wink. Ronnie and Kevin grin.

"Okay, seriously guys, if y/n says she is game then you should all be, because lord knows how hard it is to drag her to a party." Kevin says with a snort. Archie and Betty laugh at the comment.

"Fair enough, and plus it would be all of Riverdale High so it'll be super awesome!" Betty says, leaning forward to rest her elbows on the table, taking a bite of her salad. Archie nods in agreement.

"yeah lets do this! I can help set up beforehand if you need Ronnie, too." Archie says. I snort into my glass of water at the 'help' comment.

"sure, help, not making out on every surface that's available in her house" I mumble into my drink. Only Jughead hears me because he is sitting right beside me, and he laughs turning it into a cough, making me grin.

"Jug you have to come too. You can sit on Ronnie's couch and type away if you so please, but you have to come with." I say as I look at him, watching him push his half-eaten lunch around on his tray.

"Yeah Jughead, you can park yourself on my couch for the whole time, but you gotta come." Veronica says, leaning forward some on the table. After a long pause with all of us looking at him, he finally gives in and nods.

"Fine, but I will probably be writing in some corner for the entire time" Jughead says, rolling his eyes at everyone's smiles at his answer.

"Then lets go! Plan it for Saturday which is New Years Eve, and get the word out to everyone! Even Cheryl and the football team" Veronica says with a roll of her eyes. Everyone nods and then leaves for their next class as the bell rings.

/ / TIMESKIP TO NEW YEARS PARTY / /

It was finally Saturday and you showed up to Ronnie's a bit earlier to help with the finishing touches for setting up.

"y/n! you look hot girl! I am loving the new dress!" Veronica says as she lets you in her house. You're wearing a new party dress you had just bought a few weeks ago. It was tight and went a bit above mid thigh, with long sleeves and a very open back. It was a dark (fav color) that brought out y/e/c like no tomorrow, and your hair was down and curled slightly so it fell in soft waves. You didn't go crazy with makeup, only doing a bit of eye makeup that went well with the dress, and helped make your eyes pop even more, and a good lip color that worked well with the whole ensemble, and being topped off with some basic black heels, that you knew you would be ditching later on that evening.

Kevin, Archie, and Betty were all there already, Betty in a single-strap light silver dress that went to just above her knees. Her hair was down and she had basic makeup that made her look even more gorgeous than she already was. Veronica was in a tight basic black dress that looked amazing on her, which she finished off with tall black heels, and her signature dark purple lip color. Kevin was in basic dark gray dress pants and a dark blue shirt that he said "was Joaquin's favorite color", while Archie was in simple black dress pants and a white button up.

"y/n! you look gorgeous! No one will be able to keep their eyes off you!" Betty says with a wink as she greets me. I see the hidden message and blush bright pink. Not long ago I had told her and Veronica and Kevin that I liked Jughead, and had for a while. The boys greeted me, and then the door bell rang.

"Yay! Lets get this party started!" Veronica cheers as she opens the doors, tons of people coming in as loud music starts up and people start to drink and dance.

About two hours later, almost everyone was either drunk or tipsy, and dancing to the extremely loud music. I had been dancing with Ronnie and Betty, but needed to step away to refill my drink and to take a breather.

I went into the kitchen, and saw Jughead sitting criss-cross on one of the counters, his face illuminated by his computer screen.

"Juggie!! you came!" I say happily, me being pretty tipsy. He looked up and you could see his breath hitch slightly as he looked over my appearance. I smirk and twirl

"You like? I picked this color because you said it looked best on me." I said with a grin and a wink, feeling very confident due to the alcohol I had consumed.

"you-you look amazing y/n" Jughead said, stuttering slightly. I grin and walk over, leaning against the counter he was sitting on and taking a sip of my drink, looking at his computer screen.

"hows it-" I start to say, but then I hear Veronica's slightly slurred voice shout from the main room where everyone was.

"GUYS!!! 30 SECONDS TO MIDNIGHT!!! IT'S ALMOST NEW YEARS!!" Ronnie's voice echos. Everyone cheers and continues to dance while finding their significant others for their New Years kiss. That though sobered me up quite a bit. New Years kiss... The only person I want to kiss is my freaking best friend who iv'e been friends with forever, and who probably thinks of me as a sister..  I set my cup down.

Someone had turned the music down some, and everyone was chanting.

10!!!...... 9!!!...... 8!!!.....

Jughead next to me stiffened, then closed his computer and put it down, hopping of the counter and turning to face me.

"this is going to sound kind of crazy, but y/n, I have liked you for a long time. I have wanted to tell you earlier but, well, I'm a coward."

7!!!!...... 6!!!..... 5!!!.....

I watched him with wide eyes, my face turning slightly pink with blush as he stepped forward and took my hands with his.

"I know that this isn't exactly an opportune time to confess something like this" Jughead says, forcing a small laugh. "But when have I ever been known to be 'an opportune person'.

3!!!..... 2!!!......

1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Everyone shouted it out. I could see Archie dip Veronica into a deep kiss. Kevin and Joaquin making out in a corner. Betty and Reggie in a passionate lip-lock, huh, who knew I think, my brain a bit fuzzy from the drinks and Jughead and noise.

I face Jughead and give him my happiest smile, squeezing his hands with mine.

"I feel exactly the same way Juggie, for way too long too." I say then I let go of his hands and place mine on either side of his face, pulling him down to my height and kissing him, my eyes fluttering shut. He doesn't respond right away, but then one of his hands find the side of my neck as the other is pulling my waist closer to him as he kisses me deeply, making me gasp slightly at the intensity.

I forget about the people, and the music, the noise, all that matters then is him. Once we have to pull away for air, our foreheads still connected as we pant slightly.

"aren't you glad you came to this god-awful party, Juggie?" I say, giggling slightly . Jughead scoffs

"I mean, I guess" He says, then kisses me again, me smiling into it.
