You awoke slowly, the early morning sun falling across your face. You realised you were in a bed, the first time you woke up in something that wasn't the floor or a couch. You thought for a moment why, then memories of last night washed over you like warm water. You smiled as you remembered the joy that you shared with Astrid, how it felt like your souls had danced together.
A small moan came from your right, you turned to see Astrid still dozing. She looked so young, lightly sleeping besides you. Your heart started beating against as you gazed down on her, a rush of emotion nearly overwhelming you. Your mind still didn't fully comprehend that you and Astrid... You shuddered with the thought of it.
You gave a groan as pain rushed through you too, your beating by Astrid had left you particularly beat up. You winced through it, honestly getting tired of being hurt. First you washed up on shore and spent months recovering, only to have to battle a Demonic Nightmare, then finally heal from that and get beaten half to death by your new lover. You couldn't help but grin, just another kind of war wound you suppose.
Astrid gave a stretch as she woke up, eyes opening to look at you. Instantly a beaming smile covered her face, you could honestly say it was all worth it for that smile alone. "Good morning (Y/N), my valiant knight."
"Morning my fearsome Valkyrie." You leaned in towards her and planted a light kiss on her lips gently, one she gladly returned. You couldn't help but smile and cuddle up to her, pulling her towards you. She shifted against you, placing her head against your chest. You ran your hand against her head, gently playing with her hair which she seemed to like. "Tell me this isn't a dream."
"I don't think I've ever been so glad to be awake." She told you, pinching the skin on your chest to prove you were both awake. You smiled and put your arm around her, holding her like a long term married couple. "I love you (Y/N)." She told you as she looked you in the eye.
"I love you Astrid." You told her, leaning in for another kiss. You lay there a while, just enjoying being close with your new lover. You didn't want to think about anything else, for now your world consisted of this bed and this one girl. Life had been good to you it seemed, for the first time you were actually happy to have washed up here, because it led you to Astrid. She seemed to be thinking the same thing as she traced her finger down my face, drawing a pattern in my skin. "What are you doing?"
"Oh nothing, just enjoying you." She giggled innocently, then put her head on her chest to listen to your heart beat. The steady thump thump caused a large smile to creep up he face, while you played with her hair again. "(Y/N), does this mean we're... you know. Making this a regular thing?" She asked, a little fear in her voice. Who could blame her, if she was feeling the same things you were.
"That depends on wether you have to try and break my face everything."
"I think I more then made it up to you."
"I can't deny that, you were pretty amazing."
"So..." She looked up and held her breath, praying to the gods for the answer she wants to hear.
"Of course Astrid, I love you." You both beamed at each other, Astrid moved up and got on top of you. You looked up at her as she leaned in for another kiss, which you happily obliged. "I swear on my Honour, on my life, that I'll be loyal to you. I'll do everything in my power to protect you, provide for you and make you happy."
"And I promise to you (Y/N) that I'll look after you, make you happy and stop you getting any funny ideas one way or another. She smirked, lightly punching you in the shoulder.
"Ow."
"Oh that didn't hurt you big baby."
"I think you broke my arm." You joked, smiling the whole time. She raised one eye brow and lay down on you, wrapping her arms around your neck. You curled yours around her waist, enjoying the feeling of one another against you.
