Sitting in the hall listening to Jo ramble on about the girl from English, Jessica. I can't help but think about the brown haired boy. Jo snaps me from my thoughts by saying 'I'm just nipping the toilet', I nod as if to acknowledge what was said before going back to my thoughts.
As I see him enter the dinner hall I grab my phone and put my head down so he doesn't notice me. With that the picnic bench I have perched my self on goes down. Looking up he offers me his hand, saying 'Hey, we locked eyes in English, I didn't catch your name, I'm Jayce.'
Replying with a shaky 'Hi, I'm Dani' we are interrupted by Jo who states she is going to head to her next lesson early with Jessica.
Jayce then begins asking me what I'm studying, only small sentences fall from my mouth as I reply with Music, photography and art. Jayce makes it aware to me that he is also studying art with his other subjects being sport and media studies. Within no time I begin to feel more confident as we come on to the topic of what we have done over the summer.
The way his blue eyes stare at me so intently as I discuss my move from Canada to London makes me have butterflies. I tell him all about leaving my best friend Britney; who I must call later to fill her in on my first day and my recently new accommodation. Jayce explains about his mother and his 3 siblings which intrigues me, he also tells me about his dog, Russell.
Time flies and I notice we are the only two left in the Dinner Hall, thinking about it I'm not even sure if I missed the bell for my next class which is Music. Interrupting Jayce with a simple 'I think we might have missed class' he hops from his seat, leaving me with a 'I'll see you around babe, I have sport.' He winks at me and heads out the door.
With that a few minutes go by and I realise I haven't moved and I'm blushing. Grabbing my bag and pushing my glasses up my nose, I head for Music hoping I'm not to late.
Opening the door I tell the blonde haired lady at the front that I got lost on my way to class. She gives me smile adding 'I'm Mrs Lucas, we've only just gotten in to the seating plan any way, I believe you must be Danielle, your seat is just there.'Mrs Lucas is small with a blonde bob and a very rich accent. She points at a seat in the top corner of the class next to a brown haired girl who already seems to be smiling at me. Taking my seat the lesson flies, we touch on the topics and assignments for the term and I can't help but already be excited for the end of year show.
My next class is math and by time that finishes, I'm heading in the direction of the door on my way home, my walk to the bus stop isn't to far and is filled with thoughts of Jayce, my music lesson and subway delivery. My journey home doesn't take long but I'm excited to call Britney.
