Oh, this was so fun to make! And WOHOOOOO! New POV! I am really having a nerve-wracking day, so this really puts my singing performance and large presentation out of my head. I'm no love story writer, so criticism is welcome.
"I hate being lied to straight to my face when I know every bit of the truth."
-UnknownCarter's POV
My little sister, a room's reach away, and I can't tell her the truth. Oh, sweet little Rehama, what did we do to deserve such horrid fates?
Sighing, I opened my door, not really wanting to speak to anyone, and instead found myself in the cargo bay. A splitting headache greeted me, and I let it be.
When did it all go to Hell? I silently question, though I already knew the answer.
□Flashback□
With my little sister outside, protecting us, me and Chay-Ara had some very nice alone time, spent with passionate kisses and loving exchanges.
We leaned on each other now, our breath in since, and the chatter long since died out. Our perfect silence was interrupted by that, it was too quiet.
We shared a quick glance, and I called out. "Rehama?" I call, praying to Horus she was alright. Suddenly, a loud scream followed by a loud thud was heard.
I rushed out of the bed, Chay-Ara at my heels. There, laying so innocently on the floor, was my little sister. Blood blossomed from a wound where her heart would be, and her dagger lay beside her, covered in her own blood.
Anger welled inside me, and I looked down the hall, just quick enough to see the end of a robe flying down a right turn. Leaving Chay-Ara and my sister's body- Horas, that hurts to think about, I picked up the dagger and ran after the figure.
I was on their heels, but they somehow always kept out of my line of sight, always cutting corners just before I reached the one they just passed.
Multiple gaurds had joined with me, by my guess told by Chay-Ara, and we were no closer to him. Turning one last corner, we were greeted by a dead end, which caused me to shout angrily, throwing my fist into the wall.
"Your Highness, shall we prepare the princess's body?" One of the gaurds asked innocently, but innocence and concern were not what I needed right now. I needed revenge.
I angrily pushed my way through them, rushing back to my chambers to find Chay-Ara next to my sister, who she had placed on my bed. She was saying a soft prayer over her body.
"Find peace when there is no longer peace, find hope when there is no light, may your undying spirit find a place among the many souls before you, and may your light live on forever."
□End Of Flashback□
I need to tell her. I silently argue with myself. Making my way back through the ever-winding halls of the Waverider, I nod to Rip, who was probably the only one who knew our past.
He returned the nod, emotion shining in his well-wisened eyes. Reaching the door, I heard Gideon talking with her, and I wonder what she was looking at.
"Amina?" I asked softly, knocking just as gently. Loud shuffling and mumbling were heard on the other side, and she slowly opened the door.
"What do you want?" She said coldly, to my surprise.
"Can I talk to you?" I asked, using the calm and soft voice I used a lot when we were young. She paused, looking at me with an analyzing glance.
Finally, she opened the door, and I was caught off-guard by the files open on her bed, and the holographic projection coming off of the wall showing... Oh Horas. She knew.
"Amina-"
"No! Don't say anything." She growled, her tone less harsh than I expected. I stood in silence as she turned her bright gaze back to me, tears in her eyes.
"Did you know when we met?" She asked with light sobs. I had to stop myself from rushing to her aid, wanting nothing more than to hug her.
"No, I didn't. I thought you died, I didn't believe you were the same fate as me and Chay-Ara." I say softly, pushing the files gently off the bed so she could sit down.
She wiped her tears, collapsing onto her bed. Looking up at me, her gaze was innocent and young, but with a deeper wisdom hidden deep behind her eyes.
"I used to have an older brother, in this life, at least." She said quietly, voice cracking. "His name was Alec." She choked out. "Savage killed him to show me his power."
I moved to her side, holding her in a hug, in which she returned it, tears coming down like rainfall now. "It's alright, I'm here, little sister." Tears were forming in my eyes now, and we spent about five minutes together, just holding eachother with tears in our eyes and staining our cheeks.
I got you back, and Savage will never take you away from me again. I swear silently, promising myself that I would die before I saw her body lying at my feet again.
Oh, the beauty of siblings. And yes, my goal for their connection is to bring more whump to my story, but to also flesh out Carter's character more. I hate one-dimensional characters. Also, thank you, loki_satan for the beautiful new cover.
