Hit. Hit. Miss. Hit. Hit. I could officially hit 4 out of five shots in the center of my taget. I was getting way better. And that was a good thing. I promised myself I would never be caught in the situation of being a victim or hostage again, so Rick had been training me to shoot, while Carl had been teaching me a more, hand to hand combat style.

"Come on (Y/N). You're fighting like a pansy. Remember, you want to find my weakness and exploit it" Carl says, a smirk plastered on his face. I didn't know how to react, so I just sigh. This training has been grueling to say the least.

"I know I know" I say, shaking my head and returning to my stance. There was sweat dripping down my face, my hair plastered to my head, my shirt and shorts attached to me, to the point where it was skin tight. But I had to keep going. I'm not going to let myself be caught helpless again. I'm going to be able to hold my weight, and be able to make it to my family.

"Carl, (Y/N). Enough. You both need to rest" Rick says, looking between the both of us. "We need to get a move on tomorrow, so we're going to need all the rest we can get" he adds. I nod.

"Alright. I'm going to change" I look between both males. We had taken refuge in an old convince store, and there was a department store right across the street, and I planned on getting some new clothes. Rick nods his head.

"Be careful, and only get what you need and head back. Got it?" He asks. I nod my head.

"Clear" I say. I grab my almost empty bag, and head across the street to the old clothing store. I enter, and look around. I needed jeans, a flannel (because they're amazing) and boots if I was lucky enough.

I walk through the aisles, and easily find some jeans, and a black undershirt, but no flannel or shoes yet. I head for the men's department, and head straight for the flannel rack. I guess the bandits don't like clothes, since a majority of the items are still here.

I pull off a red and black checkered flannel, and smile. It was a little big, but I had room to grow. Next item, boots. I start walking towards the shoes, and instantly squeal. Today's been my lucky day, because I find a new pair of boots, in my size. I grab the book and put them on, making sure to take off the tags first. I begin to walk around the store a bit more, since you never know what you can find.

"No way" I utter to myself as I walk towards the north side of the store. Brand new backpacks hanging around. And there were a few that were bigger than mine. I take a larger one down, and transfer all of my stuff into it. Now I have room to take a few more flannels and another pair of jeans. I rush over, making sure to grab appropriate underwear and socks, since it's a necessity. I grab a few flannels and some socks and pack them into my bag, and decide to head back to Carl and Rick.

As I head out the front door, something at the front check out catches my eye. Candy. Gummy bears, chocolate for Carl, and even old Carmel candies that Rick would like. All old people like hard candies right?

I grab a few bags of gummy bears, (since they are my favorite lmao.), a few chocolate bars for Carl, and a few bags of those hard camel candies for Rick, and set off back across the street to the camp.

Rick smiles as I walk back inside. "Everything went okay?" I nod my head, and look between the two. "There's a lot of stuff there for you. You should go check it out" I sag, smiling. Carl nods.

"I definitely will" he says.

"There's new bags, clothes, sanitary items. Oh and before I forget" I pull out the chocolate and Carmel candies from my bag and toss them to Carl and Rick. "I picked up a few things" Rick just reads the label and chuckles.

"Is this because you think I'm old?" I just laugh.

"Maybe so" I say. Carl smiles.

"Gosh. I haven't had chocolate since we were in your city (Y/N)" he says. I just smile.

"That's why I got them for you silly" I tease.

"Do you want one? I know that you got them for me, but still" I shake my head.

"Nope. I got my own gummy bears. I'm happy as it is." I say, smiling. He just laughs.

"Listen. I'll take fist watch okay?" I say to the two men, going onto a more serious topic. "And Rick, don't say anything. You and Carl both need your sleep. I've gotten better with a gun. You two sleep, I'll wake you if anything happens" I say, looking between the two men. Carl goes to object but Rick shakes his head.

"You heard her Carl. Go get some sleep. You look like you need it" he says, and tuns to me. "Three hours. Then wake me up okay?" He says, looking at me. I nod my head.

"Three hours". Rick nods his head and goes back to lay down for a bit. I pull a small book out of my bag. Carl had comics, I had books. Hey! They were an easy way to pass the time.

After I get about five chapters in, I hear rustling from outside. We cleared this area already, there's no walkers around here. I stand up, since I was awake, I needed to check it out.

I pull out my gun, and hold it steadily in front of me as I exit the store. I turn the corner into the alleyway, and come face to face with a boy. He lets out a quiet yelp, and I turn the gun towards his face. He instantly puts his hands up.

"Woah woah woah. Please don't shoot me. I'm just trying to find my family" he says.

"Who are you?" I demand, keeping the gun aimed at him.

"I-I'm Henry. Henry Mills" he stutters out.
