"Who the hell are you boy?" Rick demands to the boy on the ground, both his hands and feet bound so he couldn't escape or try and attack us. To say he was terrified was an understatement. He's never been in this scenario before, he's lived the easy life in this hell hole of a world.
"H-Henry sir" he stutters, scared out of his wits.
"Tell me, where are your people?" Rick demands. Carl sits in the front of the store, keeping an eye out invade this Henry fellow tried anything or his group did.
"I-I don't know. W-We were separated and I'm looking for them" he says. I can pretty much see the worry on his face. He was telling the truth, no doubt about it.
"Rick, the poor boy is terrified. I think he's telling the truth. He's to pampered to have a rough group" I say, looking at Henry. The boy was shaking in his boots. "Rick, listen, why don't we help this poor boy find his group? We've taken on stronger than these people, judging by how pampered he is." I say Rick seems to understand where I was coming from.
"Alright boy" Rick says, putting his gun away. "We'll help you find your group. When were ou separated?"
"About a week ago, we were in a store and a herd of them got into the place and they told me to run in the opposite direction while the went the other way, drawing the herd to where I wouldn't be bitten, and I haven't seen them since."
"Then they may still be in the city, and we have a chance to find them soon. We'll camp here for the night and we can begin the search to find them in the morning. Don't worry kid, we'll find them, and if not then you're welcome to stay with us" Rick says kindly.
"Weren't you just threatening me with a gun to my face? Why do you suddenly trust me so much?"
"Because she does" he says pointing towards me. Rick seemed to trust my judgement, and that's coming from a man who threatened me because I put a note in a gas station to help people. My judgement was pretty horrid, but this man doesn't seem bad. "She tends to be correct about these types of things, something about womens intuition" he laughs.
"Okay Rick, sure. Whatever you say. Welcome to the club Henry" I say, smiling, and turning towards the terrified boy. He still seemed unsure about anything that had to do with us. "We can help you find your family" I say, trying to help the poor boy calm down.
"Really? Will I get a weapon"
"Wow, slow down there boy" Rick says "Why don't you already have a weapon?"
"My, umm, moms, didn't want me to 'ruin' my innocence so I was a medic, didn't kill anything, nor would ever be put in the position to kill something. So there was no possible way I would ever get a weapon." Henry says, seeming pitiful, yet irritated.
"We'll see what we can do for your situation, if we can get ahold of a weapon for you,we will. But until then, stay close to (Y/N) because shes a badass with her gun"Rick says smirking.
"U-Understood sir" Henry responds, seemingly awkward, like he didn't want to rely on anyone.
After allowing Henry into the group, he always stayed close to me, and I don't know if it was because I was his "protector" or if he doesn't trust Rick and Carl. Or maybe there's some other reason.
A change in the group was just what we needed. The change would bring about great things, only things we would be able to change. Things that would change within me, only because of those two boys. The boys who changed the way I viewed this accursed, evil world.
