One
I touch my cheeks
For the tear tracks
Knowing that I'll find them
I wipe away the tears
But I don't wipe away the hurt
Because she's gone
I never asked her to leave
I never asked her to stay either
But I never thought she could
I take a deep breath
It shakes my body and my heart
One that I'm sure is damaged beyond repair
But I try
I replace
I reset
I pretend that it's alright
But it's never the same
Because she was the only one
She was the only one who knew my pain
This time she's the cause of it

Gasping
Do you know the feeling of your breath being taken away?
You could interpret that two different ways
The first time you saw her you couldn't breathe
And everything stopped
And all you could see was her eyes
And how her smile dared to reach them
But it your breath was not taken away
It was given
Unlike the times alone as you cry yourself to sleep
Because you can't ever feel that again
Because you can't ever give again
Does she know that you gave
That it was not taken
Until you couldn't breathe because never
Because never
Because she's never
Because she's never coming back
