It was a day like any other. Boring, simple.. that's how it started. Not how it ended. I was watering my plants when I heard the crash. I dropped my watering tin and let out a screech. The sound was just outside, a few houses down. The tire's screams played again and again like a broken record in my mind as I tried to catch my breath. Moments passed as I stared out my window. I always do this. Shut down when it comes time to be brave. That's how I lost my job. But my thoughts were interrupted as I caught sight of a bloody, limping man with a plaid, bloody shirt slung a crossed his shoulders to support a wounded arm. He seemed out of breath and in excruciating pain. But if he wasn't going to let the ambulance take him to the hospital, I had to help.
I wasn't going to do this again. This opportunity is not passing me by.
