Alex X Addie: New Life To Thaw

Waiting At Home

While Alex was at work, Addie would remain back at the house, waiting for her boyfriend to come back. She was really concerned about her pregnancy and would keep one hand on her belly to make sure it would be ok. When Alex came back, she would hug him out of worry. It was Friday when that first happened.
"Woah, Addie", Alex said, caught in his girlfriend's grasp, "You seem to be a handful."
"I was so worried about you", Addie sadly replied, "You being at work so long worries me. I always think my condition would get worse when I think about my womb".
"Did you feel any pain?" Alex asked, worried.
"Not really", Addie answered, "But I always wanted you to stay and help our child". She began to cry, but Alex had to comfort her.
"It won't be a big deal any longer", He said, "I get weekends off and work is only about four and a half hours long. I'll always be there for you."
Addie cheered up and once again kissed him. She didn't worry anymore, for the rest of the month.
Alex was as good as his word. He did stay with Addie in the weekends and there were only 4 1/2 work hours every 5 days a week. Addie was more patient for her boyfriend's return home, even if he was a minute or two late. Those reasons were either to help a worker in need or maybe a drill. The month went smoothly as a result.
It was the last day of June and the final day of work for Alex. He did enjoy his summer job as well as the other workers did. Addie was snoozing on the bed, waiting for Alex's return. By 12:25, she was napping when Alex walked into the house and headed upstairs to her. She woke up to find him on the bed sitting next to her.
"Uh? Alex?" Addie asked, as she got up a bit, "Why are you up here?"
"To see you happy for me to be back", Alex replied, grinning, "Sorry about being 25 minutes late heading home, but I have some things to say".
Addie listened.
"My boss was kind enough to help with our problem by paying me the right amount to help with our debts. He was a great boss and I respected him and he knew about the things we had to go through. But I got something else to ask", He pulled out a little box and opened it up, revealing a ring with a diamond on it,
"Addie, will you marry me?"

DRUMROLL

"Yes!" Addie answered, "Yes I'll marry you!"
With that, she and Alex kissed each other and latex down on the bed, texting their friends about what would happen next.
