Welcome to The Beach

At some point along the flight, I'd fallen asleep against the window. I had to have been out for a while because I'm now in the car and sitting in front of the house. There was a knock on the window that jolted me from my thoughts, only to find the car driver at the door. He pulled the door open as I clicked my seat belt a loose and helped me down from the cab of the car. I knew that my dad had money, but not at all like this. His house is enormous, nothing like I've ever seen, I must've been staring for a while because the driver has surpassed me and is headed for the door.

I quickly catch up to him falling in line with his steps. "Your father wont be in until next Wednesday," he reached for the door, "so, you will be here with Iolana (yoh-LAH-nah)  the cook, she is a traditional woman, I think you'll like her." he opened the door to reveal an enchanting living room, but he pays it no mind and walks straight to the stairs. "You have your own room in the east wing of the house that's basically your, how do I say it, home in a home." He continues down the hall, his strides becoming longer . "You have a theater, a full master bed and bath, and a game room, well in your case an art room." I stopped dead in my tracks. "A-an art room?" he paid me no mind and continued to walk towards the bedroom, "Yes, an art room equipped with anything and everything you'll need, along with an amazing ocean view," he said as he pushed open the door to my new living space. "And this is Kou hou wahi kaawale no koe, Your new room." It was stunning.

It has a Victorian style chandelier with an ocean view window. The room has a perfect color choice of beige and neutrals, my favorites. The bathroom is also stunning, with a walk-in shower, and a Jacuzzi bath tub. The sinks and floors are marble, with white accents. I think I'm in love. "My name is Abelino, but you can call me Bird, I'm your driver/bodyguard, and well basically anything else, just think of me as a brother." he shrugs off nonchalantly. "Why Bird? That's kind of odd for a man of your size," I said making myself comfortable on the beautiful bed. "My name means Bird, aren't you part Hawaiian iki kekahi, little one?"

He had a point, I am part Hawaiian, but its been a while since I've spoken, "Are you hungry?" I asked to avert the subject. "Pizza?" He retorted standing up from the foot stool at the end of the bed. "Now you're speaking my language," "I'll go freshen up." and with that he walked out the room leaving me to my thoughts. While I waited, I began to wander around the room. On the pretty beige wall was a picture, it's of me at the beach playing in the water with an old friend that I hadn't seen since the move to Chicago. I wonder where he got this?

"Im back iki," Abelino's husky voice makes me jump, "Jesus Bird, you can't just sneak up on someone like that." He begins to clutch his stomach and double over, into wholehearted laughing fit  "Alright lets get going." he said in between his long gasps of air, while sobering up. As I walk past him, I slap him dead in his chest on the way out of the room and towards the car, but before we can reach the front door, he takes an unexpected turn to meet the bulky garage door. He opens the door to reveal a garage full of cars, old and new, Abelino settled on a White soft top Jeep Wrangler, "Do I have to help you into this one too?" he faked a girly physique standing at my side,  "Hahaha, very funny." I shot back while he jumped in on the drivers side and began the drive towards the pizza shoppe.

On the way to the shoppe, I take a look out the window to see where I'll be living for the next few months. The town is fairly big, and there are many shops lining the streets, which also happen to be crawling with teens out for summer break. Bird turns up the radio and one of my favorite songs Gangsta by Kehlani comes on and I belt the lyrics like there's no tomorrow.

 "I need a gangsta
To love me better
Than all the others do
To always forgive me
Ride or die with me
That's just what gangsters do"

Just as the song came to an end and we pulled up at the pizza shoppe, and I pulled the hair tat was now in my face back and into a ponytail.  "Wow iki, you can sing." he said as he walked around to my side of the car to let me out, "Um.. thanks, I guess." Once I made my way out of the car, the vibe around me began to change. For some reason I felt, odd; nervous even. The pizza shoppe was packed to the brim with people. It was medium sized, almost diner-like and there were even people sitting outside eating at the tables. Abelino grabbed my hand and led me into the shoppe, even though the sign said 'stand and wait to be seated', he completely ignored the sign and continued off to the left side of the restaurant. I couldn't really see where we were headed, but I did notice that there were no seats at all, no booths, nothing.  While I've drifted off thinking about the crazy and impossible places where there could be seating, Bird had come to a complete stop, but before my mind registered the fact that he'd stopped, my legs kept their swift movement in time and I ram right into Abelino's back.

He Picked me up off of the floor and turned me to face the booth in front of him, "Iki, these are some of my friends. The boy band look-a-like over there is Bryce," the guy he was talking about looked at me devilishly and flipped the middle finger at Bird, "this guy here," he pointed to a guy with a nice fade, "this is Trey, the biggest man-whore below the Mason Dixon line," again, the middle finger, "this one here," he grabbed his head and began to ruffle his swooshie hair, " we call Tommy-boy, he's the youngest and the most baby-faced high-school Senior we know, well next to you of course," he only gave a simple nod and began to fix his hair with the help of a napkin holder, "this Hollister model here," he gestured to a boy with perfectly tan skin and short jet black hair, "this is Dylan, but you can call him TBear, cause he's nothing but a softy," he ended his explanation in a baby voice, earning him a punch to the shoulder, laughing "and last but definitely not least; surfer, stoner, skater boy Liam." he gestured to a boy with ocean blue eyes that seemed to be currently occupied with french fries and long dark brown hair tamed up into a curly man bun. "Hi everyone," I said sheepishly playing with my hands, "Don't be scared iki kekahi, we don't bite." Tommy said with a sincere smile, "Speak for yourself," Dylan shot back hungrily.

"Nope, hands off she's ke aʻa Makehewa (the kings) daughter, I'm not letting any of you dogs near her." Hoops and hollers of "why" and "dude c'mon" sounds around the large group like a chorus , then it abruptly falls silent as the front door opens. I turn to see what was happening to make everyone just instantly stop talking, then I find it, my eyes meet the most menacing human being I've ever seen. I was frozen in place. His eyes were an icy green unlike the green of my mother, he was built almost the same as Abelino, but he has a little less muscle, and seems a lot shorter. He has on a hoodie with the sleeves cut out to reveal both of his tattoo sleeves, he's basically dressed to beat my ass. At this point he'd gotten so close to me, that I can feel his breath fanning over my face. He leaned over to whisper in my ear, "Move." he basically growled out at me, his voice was dripping with anger. Out of instinct I put my hands up and pushed him, and bolted out the door. I clearly caught him off guard because he toppled over, but by the time he was headed after me, I finished hot wiring the Jeep and speed out of the parking lot.

Welcome to the beach, more like Welcome to Graceland *eye roll*
