❝Hyung you've been in your apartment for more than two days now❞ Jungkook's worried voice spoke on the other end of the line. Taehyung had his cellphone on speaker as he was busy painting

❝Yeah, I've been busy❞ Taehyung groggily confessed. ❝Come and hang out with us❞ Jungkook begged

Taehyung sighed, setting his paintbrush down ❝Sorry, I can't❞

❝You're busy painting that girl aren't you?❞ Yoongi's voice now huffed through Jungkook's phone.

Taehyung felt his face heat up as he dropped his paintbrush ❝N–no❞

Yoongi groaned ❝Taehyung, she's just a painting. We get it, she's pretty and all, but... but she's not real❞

Something shot at Taehyung's poor heart, pain was the only thing he felt. It was like flying, and suddenly for no reason at all you feel yourself falling, and before you can even process it, you collide with the ground. It felt like being slapped in the name of truth.

Taehyung snapped back, his feelings hurt ❝Who said I cared? I'm just doing my job as an artist❞

❝Oh come on. We all know you're like obsessed with her–❞

❝I'm not❞ Taehyung raised his voice to prove his point. He felt some sort of anger surging through his veins

Yoongi laughed and that just made Taehyung even more mad. In the background he could hear Hoseok scolding Yoongi for being provocative. ❝It's the truth Taehyung❞

Taehyung ended the call. He proceeded to fling his phone across the room in anger. He didn't know why he was mad, or why he was feeling so hurt. He looked at the unfinished painting of the beautiful girl sitting on the rim of a fountain in Rome, Italy. She was beautiful.

He tried to touch her but ended up smudging her legs into a blur of mixed paint. Taehyung cursed, immediately rubbing his thumb on his pants in an attempt to get the paint off.

He looked up at her, sighing helplessly. Taehyung began to feel tears on the brim of his eyes as he blinked them away.

What Yoongi said was true.

She was nothing but a painting. And that's all that she ever was. And all that she ever will be
