━━━★ IN THE RUIN AND ASHES OF THE LOST WORLD, Chicago Rhee had stood ready for the moment she was finally granted salvation. She had learned quite quickly that most people did not have her best interests in mind, as they selfishly tossed her aside in order to obtain their own version of peace. The world was the puppeteer and they were merely puppets, put on display to satiate the twisted desires of an unseen force. They maimed and killed each other, the blood coating their hands like a thick layer of paint.
Some people caved, reaching the most rock bottom version of themselves. Some people laughed in the face of violence and feasted on the fear of others. Some people did not know which way to fall, for there was never a clear answer in sight in a world that no longer was built on morals. Chicago had tempted the darkness early on, yet did everything in her power to not have to make the choice that costed the life of another living being.
She escaped one hellish existence and landed in another, and yet somehow she had not yet been completely corrupted by the darkness. Even when time and time again she had been tested by the vile hands of a faceless entity urging her to use her hands to breed chaos. With a strength she was not aware that she had, she pushed back and built herself a world that did not require the cruelest of sacrifices to survive.
But the darkness had also pushed back.

This story has been revamped to my current writing style. Although some plot points will remain the same, to an extent, I have cut out a lot of parts that really made me cry out of sheer embarrassment. I didn't want that writing representing me currently, especially since one) this is my most popular book and two) I wasn't proud of anything I wrote. Every time I looked at this book my mental health drained. Even responding to comments started to get harder and harder. So, if somehow you like those older chapters, then I'm sorry but they were hell on earth for me.
