coward. she's a coward! she won't help him end it all because she's terrified for herself. "you're not thinking straight," she says, and of course he's not, he's freaking corrupted, how could he be thinking straight? "now you're being ridiculous," she replies, "we're going to fix this!"
"no we're not," he says, "i'm going to die! and if it's going to happen sooner or later i'd rather have it be sooner!"
connie leaves shortly after, and comes back through the warp pad with a frantic pearl.
steven's just exhausted and wishes it would all end.
