I woke up and heard carts wheeling down the hallway. I looked out the window, it was still dark.
I looked at the time on the TV. 4:32.
"Why're you awake?" I heard the squeaky voice I love.
"Um.. I just woke up." I said.
"Oh.." Kacey nodded.
"Hey, you guys awake?" A nurse walked in. I looked at the door and nurse Gina came in.
"Hello." I smiled. "I got some medicine." She had a tray of medicine bottles.
She set two bottles beside my bedside table, then gave Kacey a bottle of painkillers.
"When a doctor comes on, it'll be easier for them. Take one now, here's some water." She set a cup of water on out bedside tables.
"Bye." She waved and walked back out. "Hey, Kacey?" I turned over.
"Yeah?"
"Can you tell me a story?"
"Um.. How about I-I sing..?"
"Sure." I nod. He hobbled over and layed beside me.
"My life is beautiful,
"My life is beautiful,
My love is pure,
I saw an angel,
Of that I'm sure,
She smiled at me on the subway,
She was with another man,
But I won't lose no sleep on that,
'Cause I've got a plan."You're beautiful.
You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, its true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do
'Cause I'll never be with you."Yes, she caught my eye,
As we walked on by,
She could see from my face that I was,
Fuckin' high,
And I don't think that I'll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last till the end."You're beautiful,
You're beautiful,
You're beautiful, its true
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with her."You're beautiful,
You're beautiful,
You're beautiful, its true
There must be an angel with a smile on her face,
When she thought up that I should be with you,
But it's time to face the truth,
I will never be with you." He sang while stroking my hair.I felt tears on my back, and I looked at Kacey.
"K-Kacey, are you alright..?"
"I-I lo- Yeah.. I'm fine." He snuggled closer to me.
"I love you."
