"What would you have done if we couldn't have found her!" Colin shouted.

"She would have been easy to track! She is a Freshling, spare me the dramatics Colin" Leucien rolled his eyes and made to walk away.

Colin grew angry and took the dagger by his side out, jumping over the table and now standing in front of Leuicien, stabbing the knife into the table, Leucien looked down and then back up; he was ready to fight.

"Make no mistake of it Leucien, you may be my friend and you may have been the one to give me all I have now, but I can not stand by and watch you release this dangerous idea of yours into the unprotected streets!"

"What do you suggest Colin? She's just a girl, a scared and lonely girl. There is no way she can go back to her family and there is no way I will kill her. We can train her and control her"

"You can not guarantee that!" Colin bellowed.

Leucien looked at him, Colin stared back, eye as hard as steel. Leucien didn't back down and Colin started to feel himself calm down, he cursed and took the dagger form the table and re-sheathed it, turning his back on Leucien.

"We're going through with it regardless of your thoughts. We will have her under twenty-four hour surveillance, if it makes you feel better, you can be the one to train her" Leucien said.

Colin turned and gave his friend a look of disgust and annoyance.

"It's like you don't know me at all mate"

"Jesus Col, I'm giving you the opportunity to make sure the job is done to your standards"

Colin hung his head and thought about that. Either way this was going to happen, would he allow himself to be responsible if the girl gets out and creates havoc, when he could have trained her and prevented it? Colin growled and looked up at his friend.

"Fine. I will train this creature. I'm not going to be nice and if she even looks at me like I'm her next meal, I will kill her"

Leucien grinned and let out a laugh, turning to put his arm around Colin's shoulders, slapping it hard and making him walk towards the elevator to go to the dungeon. Colin took a deep breath and listened to Leucien as he went on about how this would be a good learning experience and a new experience for Colin. Closing his eyes, Colin hung his head slightly and thought about Layla. Was this something she would approve of? Would she be alright with him doing this to find out how to kill the creatures of dread that separated them before their time?

Colin looked into the room where the girl was kept and spied her curled in a ball in the corner to the far right. He sighed and went in, leaving Leucien behind, Colin looked at him from the circular window and gave him the finger. Leucien put his hands up and left. Colin turned and punched the girl in the face. The girl screamed as the momentum her body carried was cut short and she fell to the floor. Gasping and crying, Colin felt pity, but he pushed it away and leaned down to her, grabbing her by the hair.

"Look girly, I don't like you. I despise your kind. It wasn't your fault you became one, but you are now and I have to work with you. So let's make this as quick and painless as possible aye?"

"Get off me!" She screamed.

Colin pushed her to the ground and backed away quickly. The girl jumped up almost immediately, throwing a punch at Colin who caught her fist and twisted it, making her gasp and fall to the floor, on one knee, tears streaming down her face. She looked up at Colin, he looked back at her with eyes of stone.

"Why are you doing this to me?" She asked.

"I wanted you dead"

"Then why didn't you just kill me?! I didn't want to be a Vampire!"

Colin's heart flipped, but this made him angry, he twisted her wrist and she screamed, flipping onto her side.

"Well like it or fucking not you pain in the ass, I''m stuck with you and you're stuck listening to me. If you do as you're bloody told you might just enjoy the rest of your life, we might just let you live"

"What if I don't want to live?" She whispered.

"Then just tell me to do it" Colin said,

The girl looked up to see what he had meant when a gasp got caught in her throat as Colin placed the very sharp dagger from his side to her neck.

"I'll do it" He said so calm, it was scaring the poor girl.

Their eyes met and held, his gaze was cold and stoney, her eyes watered and she closed them, sobbing her heart out. Colin moved away from her, putting his dagger away.

"You aren't ready to die. So you have no option. I am going to train you to fight and look after yourself. Leucien and the others will breif you on what your tasks are to be. You are our new weapon" Colin explained.

"Why should I help you? You made me like this?" She sobbed.

"Because you have no other choice" Colin barked.

The girl jumped, now curled back in a ball, knees up to her chest. Colin kept his bck to her, but she knew he was still paying attention. Colin took a breath, he could feel his skin crawling and his anger growing, a Vampire was right in front of him and he wasn't allowed to kill it.

"What is your name?" Colin asked.

"What?" The girl asked, caught off guard.

"Your name!" Colin said impatiently.

"Lucy"

Colin's heart jumped. He thought she was named Layla. He calmed his beating heart and cleared his throat.

"I'm Colin. I will start teaching you tomorrow. Leucien will send someone in to tell you and help you control the Vampire in you"

"Thanks...I guess"

Colin clenched his fists into a tight ball and then exited swiftly and went straight up the stairs. There was an office in the building he knew of that wasn't used anymore; he would made that his room for the time being. He made his way there and went in, turning on the light and looking around. It was small but long. There was an old couch under the only window, a few filing cabinets filled with old files of older Vampires that had already been caught. There was a small desk and a coat hanger. Colin went to the desk and pulled out some paper and found a pen and got it working after a few frustrating minutes. He made a list of what he would need and then made his way out of the office to find Leucien.

Colin practically threw the paper at Leucien, glared and then turned and grabbed his quiver and bow that he had left in the canteen but they had been moved to the computer lab with Leucien. Colin then made his way back to his room and decided to move it around to suit himself. He moved the couch which would now be his bed, away form the window and lay down on the couch, getting ready for a nap, it would be a while before Leucien got all the items on Colin's list to him, so he decided to rest and try and comprehend what he was having to do.
