"Then all of the sudden things were different." - K.L.
In the not so quaint, but very small town, known as Riverdale, our story begins. Daxton Morris sat in the backseat of her family's not at all discreet Range Rover with her seventeen-year-old brother, Sorin Morris, whose red hair blazed against the gray skies. Neither child smiled, neither child acknowledged their parents' attempts at conversation, nor did either child look out the windows at the locally owned stores or the run-down drive in. Rather, both children stared straight ahead at the smooth black leather seats.
Luna Morris sat in the passenger seat in her usual black blazer and pencil skirt. With one look, the woman could have you cowering back. She was a bitch, and, unfortunately, that was exactly how she raised her daughter. Luna knew what she wanted . . . and she knew how to get it . . . and she knew how to flaunt it. She wasn't weak, and she'd be damned if anyone thought otherwise. She wanted to be in charge no matter what she had to do get it.
Zion Morris was a feared man, a rich man. He knew how to bargain it, he knew how to spend it, but, most importantly, he knew how to get money. He was not a bad man, but he did what he had to do to stay on top. Even if it meant that his children could one day suffer the consequences.
Both Luna and Zion grew up in Riverdale. High school sweethearts, a small wedding, and one of the few lucky ones able to escape the small town. The two started a world-renowned fashion company making millions before the birth of their first and only son, Sorin. A short year later, Daxton Morris was born. The couple loved their children, but business always came first.
The fact that they were raised by nannies never phased Sorin or Daxton. To them, this was normal. But just because their parents were hardly raising the children didn't mean that their morals and ideals weren't still instilled into their children. The children knew who they were and what they deserved. They must maintain the dignity of the family, but they must also demand respect. And they did. They were good at it. Good at acting . . . good at pretending . . . good at being something they weren't. They didn't enjoy the attention or the money. They didn't enjoy that people cowered away from them the moment they learned their last name. But they did it all anyways because, just like the rest of the world, they feared their parents.
However, their parents decided that they needed to spend time with their children. So, they packed their bags and move their family from Santa Monica to Riverdale, where they would continue to run their business from their new home. Sorin and Daxton were anything but happy.
"We wanted to arrive a little earlier to spend some time with you but-" their mother began.
"Work is work," Daxton and Sorin responded instantaneously, but emotionlessly.
Luna sighed before continuing, "Anyways, you both start school tomorrow. Riverdale High School, home of the Bulldogs and River Vixens, was built in 1941 when the town was founded. they have a newspaper, Daxton, called the Blue and Gold that I thought you may be interested in the diner, Pop's, is where your father and I had our first date. The Twilight Drive-In is the place to be on a Friday night."
"Looks like it," Daxton muttered under her breath.
"So, kids, welcome to Riverdale, the town with pep."
AUTHOR'S NOTE: So some of you may notice that I have changed the cover of the story. That is because I have quite literally changed the entire concept of the story.
I personally felt that the chapters were a bit nonsensical, and I truly wanted to give you the best. So I started over, and the book is now an FP imagine.
I really hope you enjoy the prologue! I am still working on updating the rest of the chapters.
