Chapter 1 The breakdown

Everything is just like every other day. The only small difference was that a chemical called "ASCLEPUIS LUPIS" or better known as "AL" had gotten out. The chemical was composed to create a normal human into something more powerful, and more efficient with taking orders as well as an unspoken way of making a chain of command. It was being mixed in a lab that was close to Freedom High School. "AL" was making amazing progress until the scientists realized that only certain people that carried a certain gene could be affected and made into a weapon. And once they were created, there was no way to reverse the process. The first place to be affected by "AL" was Freedom High School. Everyone's lives were changed dramatically and that's where I come into my story. My names Lily Beau. The day that changed all days for me,as well as many other people, was bloody, and was traumatizing for any person who had a sense of guilt or a conscience.

Months before any sort of chemical outbreak, the news had broadcasted that the lab in our little town had been chosen to preform the honor of testing "AL". Everyone in the town was really hesitant at first. The news had been told that "AL" was supposed to be a gas that could be breathed in through the lungs, and that once in the lungs it would start to heal the body of whatever sickness was in the body. Not only would it heal the sickness but it would make the person physically stronger. When we went to school all the students were taking about how they didn't think "AL" would be able to cure anything and that our scientists that were working on it were waisting their time. Being so quite I heard everyone's opinion at least once. And on the way home I asked my sisters if they had any idea of what was going on with "AL", my youngest sister Claire had said that if "AL" actually worked it would be the greatest scientific discovery of all time. My other sister Tina didn't feel the same, she thought that the scientist were never going to make any breakthrough with "AL". When we finally got home we didn't know it then but it would be the last few weeks we got to spend with our parents.

When "AL" got out of the lab an emergency broadcast was sent from the lab. The teachers were instructed to turn on there computers and play the broadcast to all the students. I was sitting in algebra when we heard static come through. "AL" has gotten out of the facility the scientist don't know what the effects will be on the general population, and everyone is advised to stay put till chemical suits can be brought into town. Then the transmission broke back into static. I looked over to my classmates to see there expressions when suddenly some students had started turning into wolves, attacking students who weren't changing in the blink of an eye. Blood covered the classroom floor and windows. Slowly I looked around the room when it hit me, Tina and Claire were in a different classroom. Without thinking I got out of the desk I was in and ran down the hallway trying not to slip from the blood that had gotten on my shoes.

When I finally got to the classroom I froze, I didn't want to find my sister dead on the floor. I knew that I would feel worse then I possibly could imagine if I did, but I needed to find them. Opening the door I peaked my head in the room looked as if it had been abandoned except for the blood and dead bodies on the floor. Leaving the door open I walked in and started looking for any sign of my sisters, when I heard something behind me. I looked back to see Tanner. He was tall, 6'0 and we had know each other ever since we started school. His hair was a fawn color and he had dark brown eyes. If I hadn't had know what type of person he was he would have been adorable. Sadly Tanner had alway been a complete and utter jackass that had a problem with authority.

I stood still hoping that Tanner wouldn't start being well himself. When I started to open my mouth he spoke, "well...well..Lily what are you doing here....especially being alone like this..?" I couldn't deal with him right now, but I realized that when I started to walk towards him he blocked the door. I was at the door now and his face inches from mine. "Tanner please not now I'm trying to find my sisters, there not here and I need to find them." I said softly. He smirked "Sorry little lady that's not gonna happen your staying with me." I smirked up at him. "Move aside otherwise your going to regret it." I pushed past him and started to walk down the hallway when I felt his hand grab my wrist. "Crap..." was all I could say when he turned me around,and pinned me against a wall. "Little lady you have no idea how mad you just made me." He said bringing his face close to my ear. I shook my head to get him to back up slightly, when he did I looked at him. His eyes were yellow. He had been affected by "AL". He smirked at my surprise and inched his face closer to mine. I forced my face down and tried to stay calm. "Do you smell that?" He asked looking around the room. My head shot up and saw that he was distracted. I saw my chance for escape and took it. I broke out of his hold and headed towards a girls bathroom that wasn't to far down the hallway. When I walked in I heard a gasp, as I walked further into the bathroom all the stalls had been shut so I started to look for my sisters. "Tina,Claire are you guys in here? " I said in a whisper so low I didn't think it would be heard.
"Lily?" I heard Claire say. I heard the lock on the stall open and  she walked out followed by Tina. "What's going on Lily one minute where in class then people are starting to change in front of us and kill other students?" Tina said. "I think it has to do with "AL" it's turning normal students into werewolves." I said calmly. Just as we started trying to figure out what was going on, I heard people heading into the bathroom. We all went into the stall,and tried to be as quite as we possibly could. But suddenly as if they could smell us they broke the stall door down.

There was three werewolves standing there looking at us. Two of them grabbed up Claire and Tina, the last wolf went to grab me when he stopped looking confused. "Were supposed to meet in the cafeteria to talk to the Beta.These two are going with the rest of the humans to the auditorium." He said calmly. I looked at my sisters and mouthed "Don't worry I'll come get you when I can." I tried to put on a brace face as I shook my head and headed to the cafeteria. When I got there, there were four wolves guarding the door. They looked at me confused for a second then let me by them. I walked inside the cafeteria, and looked around the room.

When suddenly I saw a familiar figure walking around the room, making sure that everyone was content. It was Tanner, when he saw me he walked to the door quickly. " what are you doing here you damn human your supposed to be with the other trash in the auditorium! " he said loudly so everyone could hear it. He smirked at me and turned to walk away. "Who the hell do you think your talking to like that Tanner Leslie Bighorn!" I yelled back at him. He turned slowly his eyes yellow, I knew instantly that his middle name would catch his attention. He walked toward me and I smirked at him, which only made him more angry. When he got close enough to me he lifted his hand and made a fist. He started to swing his fist, but before it could even hit me I had his fist in my hand.

I laughed alittle and smirked at him as he tried to take his fist back. Before I knew what I had done I had Tanner pinned to the floor by his throat and he couldn't move. "Now that I have your attention, who the hell is in charge here and I wanna know now!" I yelled at him. By this point everyone had been watching the episode between Tanner and I. "Alphas over by the steps....Beta." He said as though he had given up. "Wait what do you mean beta?" I asked surprised. "...Because of "AL" some students were changed into werewolves and some into vampires...and because we're werewolves, we formed a pack...you are the beta of the pack.." he said as if I should have known to begin with. He was still pinned to the ground by my hand, and before I could really think about it i yelled at him. "Tanner take me to the Alpha now!" I released him and as he was getting up he bowed his head and knelt on one knee. " yes beta." He said as if he didn't really have a choice. His submission surprised me, the normal Tanner I knew would have looked at me and told me to piss off. Maybe I could get use to this type of attitude from Tanner.
