Her face felt as if it were in a dream, the way she looked at me made my insides tingle and the way her hands felt on my skin made me want her forever until the end of the world or in this case until the end of our lives.
Realization hit me hard, knocking my mind into reality and soon enough o found myself backing away from her touch. The way she looked at me broke me inside knowing clearly what I was thinking, she knew that this couldn't be anywhere near possible.
She placed both her hands on her lap as her eyes followed the trail only knowing that she already missed the physical contact. I missed her touch as well, when she moved her hands the breeze touched where her fingers once caressed, the breeze blew away her touch making me feel empty and soon alone.
"I don't want to let you go now that I know you're real," she stood up as she spoke, as if planning something but her mind was empty,"I want to be with you forever, as crazy as it sounds, you're a mermaid so I know that that sounds even crazier. But as cheesy and cliche as it sounds, you're all I've ever needed. You swell my heart up with so much joy it's ridiculous. But I know that everything good comes to an end." Soon she stopped pacing and stood still looking down to her feet. I then noticed a tear fall to the ground and as that one splashed on the rock below her, more followed. "I love you."
I didn't notice the words escaped my lips until she now faced me with a sappy grin on her face. She brushed the tears away and walked towards me one knee where I sat as the other leg balanced her. Her hands now resting on my side as her face came closer every breathing second. As an impulsive move I closed my eyes and felt two soft and moist cushions come in contact with my lips. She was kissing me.
Her lips grazed mine every time they parted causing my own to react the same. As she kissed me my body began to react to a peculiar change in me. My body heat began to change and the water not linger felt warm I felt everything in my body especially my heart when it ceased to beat from the sudden kiss. There was a chilly breeze that suddenly hit my face causing me to look, I noticed then that she stood in shock looking down at my tail.
I followed what she was looking at causing me later to notice my tail was gone! I began to cry with no plea on stopping I noticed a small streak escape my lips. I felt so frightened, fear covered me from head to... toe. A pair of arms suddenly embraced me calming me down with its warmth and soon my crying stopped. I placed the back of my arms on my face and tried my tears." I've read in fictional books that mermaids have a pair of legs. I'm not sure how you transform or what makes you transform but I know, well from what I read, is that they turn back into a tail." I looked up at her with puffy red eyes and soon I felt a smile begin to build onto my gloomy face. I honestly really trusted her and I knew that if my tail can change into legs then they can change back into my beautiful tail.
She grabbed both my arms and helped me to my new feet. I felt the smoothness of the rocks and it's hard surface. I felt the grainy sand as my feet dug into it causing the grains to tickle between my toes. I was able to walk!
