Hello. If you're reading this, congrats! You know how to read. I applaud you. *claps dramatically*
Alright, let's go!
I dragged my feet up the front steps of my home, face red from the heat, yet my eyes surrounded by circles of black and blue. I licked my lips, feeling the wet tissue of my tongue rub against the hard, chapped skin of my bottom lip.
I fumbled around in my bag, searching for my key for a good five minutes. By the time I had found it, I had flipped my bag over and dumped everything inside it onto the porch. I had heard the soft clink of the metal and had to search through a pile of old gum wrappers before I had finally found it. I stuffed handful after handful of useless garbage into my bag along with some textbooks and folders, and unlocked the door.
I was hit by a sudden rush of cool air trying to escape outside. I shut the door, locked it, and leaned against it. I took in the pleasure of the sudden cold wrapping itself around me and let out a sigh.
"Hey," said a voice from the couch, "how was school?"
I looked over to see my boyfriend sitting on the couch. Johnny peaked over the couch to get a good look at me, looking me over with those black eyes of his.
I grunted, pulling off my shoes and throwing them next to Johnny's near the door.
"Anything exciting happen?"
I responded again with a grunt as I walked over to the kitchen, dropping my bag on the wooden surface of the table. I then made my way to the staircase and walked up and into my room, leaving the door slightly open as I changed into some shorts and a thin t-shirt.
"Teachers give you a hard time?" Johnny called out from the living room.
I responded with a groan as I pulled the shirt over my head.
I stomped down the stairs and walked over to Johnny, who had this amused glint in his eyes.
"I'm guessing you didn't exactly have a good day, am I right?" He asked, the ends of his lips twitching.
I let out a moan of agony and face-planted into the couch. I curled up into a ball and shoved my face into a pillow.
I heard Johnny stifle a chuckle. "That bad, huh?"
"Bad doesn't even begin to describe it!" I exclaimed, jumping up to face him. "First, my alarm clock went dead on me, so I was late for school. Not only did I not have time to eat breakfast, but I also got a detention with Mrs. Siltech tomorrow until 3:20. Oh, and turns out, I missed three homework assignments! How is that even possible!? And one of them was an extra credit for a test! Then at lunch, the food was overcooked and some idiot started a food fight with another idiot and soon everyone was covered in mushy, greasy school food. I have a better chance of surviving the apocalypse then getting those stains out of my clothes! Oh, and I had to stay after school to help clean up the mess in the cafeteria even though I didn't do anything. Then I saw the most hideous thing to ever be on the this earth on the way home."
"Oh?" Johnny giving me a crooked smile. His eyes still had that amused twinkle in them.
"It was a yellow house."
Johnny arched an eyebrow. "A yellow house."
I shook my head. "Not a yellow house. A yellow house. Johnny, belive me, it was one of the most hideous things I had ever seen. This house was a shade of yellow that if there was an entire town of yellow houses, you'd still be able to point out that one house. This house was a shade of yellow that made the sun look dull. This house was such a shade of yellow that it made school buses look orange."
