Dear friend,
Hello once more old friend. Do you remember the graduation ceremony? The one where you vomited? Heh must bring back unpleasant memories but it sure is funny if you ask me. In fact ask anyone and it would be funny.
Well just in case the memory is still a blur I will remind you of the events that led to your social demise. Our graduation from middle school to high school was at Thursday we had 5 days to prepare for it. On our first day which was Saturday we four decided why not spend the time to relax and unwind a bit.
I had my doubts as there was a planned graduation practice which was voluntary but it would mentally help prepare earlier and also help make it feel more natural to us but you convinced me by saying the words."We survived 298 days of school. 298! We could at least have some more fun before our parents plan trips away and all that.
"I thought about it for a moment and he did have a point we might not see each other because of vacation so why not? I ended up agreeing.
All four us met up at the playground. It became a hangout area ever since I've met you guys plus it was never hoy as it had a fair amount of trees around it that provided a breeze every so often. You began the conversation telling us to go camping in the woods as our town was rural we had an abundant amount of trees around us which is a good thing for me as the look of nature helps me relax.
You were explaining where we were going and what we were supposed to bring when Sam interrupted asking.
"Wait don't you think this a bit unsafe. Plus the possibilities of my parents agreeing are next to none! They would deny this because of safety and all that and they would bring up things like how we could get lost and and-" You then interrupted her saying how she should just try and use the 2 reasons that she should be allowed.
1st being she barely left the house and how this would be a great experience for her and 2nd they wouldn't be in danger since she always carried a phone around her just in case something bad were to happen.
I simply stayed silent since you already have the situation handled and I couldn't add anything to raise the chances of Sam going. I'm gonna move away from the story for a bit and tell you that you weren't really bright when it comes to school but you can be smart and convincing when you want to and thats a good trait for you. Thats also one of the reasons I became friends with you. Now thats out of the way I'll continue the story.
After a moral boost from you, Sam decided to try it and called her mom and the her mother who was less over protective of Sam picked up almost immediately And Sam put it on speaker. Thats it the conversation between Sam and her mom had begun.
"H-hi mom, no no nothing bad happened I just wanted to ask if I could do something with my friends?" Sam nervously said. I thought it was an awful start since saying doing something sounds more suspicious than outright saying the thing we were gonna do."Something?" Her mom asks.
"Ya, I wanted to know if I could go camping with them?" Sam says while staring at you looking like she was being burned alive or tortured. Her mom replies sounding a bit angry saying."Camping? Out in the woods? Don't you know its dangerous? What if you could get hurt or worse? Plus we already allowed you to go to the mall with them." I was dumbfounded by how over protective her mom was. I've only ever met her once and she did sound a bit over protective but not too much any child should be allowed time with their friends as it helped advance social skills and keeps their life interesting and exciting but hey if her mom has different ideologies I don't mind.
So Sam inhales and exhales."Mom, me and Steve here already know how to camp since you made me join the Jr. scouts for some odd reason and I don't even leave the house much plus I always carry my phone around me and the mall thing was last 8 weeks ago." There was silence for awhile and we finally heard it the yes from her mom and Sam just shouts thank you over and over again. As all four of us did a little celebration and we heard her mom chuckle and tell us to have fun and hang up. After that we all left to prepare for the night.
