"so this kids the real killer?" stiles' dad asked, looking at a picture of matt.
"yeah." stiles told him.
"no." his father said.
"yes." stiles replied.
"no." his dad said, again crossing his arms over his chest.
"dad, come on. everybody knowns that the police look for ways to connect victims in a murder, okay? so all you have to do is, like, look through their transcripts and figure out which class they all had in common." stiles explained.
"yeah, except for the fact that the rave promoter, kara wasn't in harris's class." his father stated.
"all right, okay, you're right, sorry. then i guess they dropped the charges against him?" stiles said.
"no, you know what? they're not dropping the charges. but that doesn't prove anything." his father said.
"scott, skylar. do you believe this?" he asked them.
"it's really hard to explain how we know this, but you just gotta trust us." scott said.
"yeah, we know it's matt." skylar added.
"yeah, he took harris's car, okay? look, he knew that if a cop found tire tracks at one of the murders, and that if enough of the victims were in harris's class, that they'd arrest him." stiles said, trying to convince him.
"all right, fine. i'll allow the remote possibility, but give me a motive. i mean, why would this kid want most of the 2006 swim team and it's coach dead?" his father said.
"isn't it obvious?" stiles said and his father shock his head. "our swim team sucks! they haven't won in, like six years. okay we don't have a motive yet. i mean, come on, does harris?" stiles asked.
"what do you want me to do?" his dad asked.
"we need to look at the evidence." scott said.
"yeah, that would be in the station, where i no longer work." stiles' dad said.
"trust me, they'll let you in." stiles told him.
"trust you?" his dad said.
"trust- trust them?" stiles said, pointing to skylar and scott.
"them, i trust." he replied.
-
they got to the station and stiles' dad walked up to the front desk.
"it's 2 in the morning." the woman behind the desk said.
"believe me, i wouldn't be here if it wasn't extremely important." his dad told her.
