Ch. 3: Secrets in the Darkness

I quickly averted my eyes from the window as I got up and walked to my door. I have to know what Kaname wanted to see me about.

Before I could leave I see something glinting in the moonlight in the corner of my eye. I turn and see the bracelet that Yuki gave to me during our first class.

"Oh (F/n)! I almost forgot to give you this." She said as she held out a silver bracelet with a pattern strung in the middle.

"What's this for?" I asked.

"They're just a part of the uniform. The headmaster says that they're a way to distinguish students." She said smiling slightly.

"Oh I see, thank you!" I say as I flash a closed eyed smile

"I'll take this just in case a teacher comes by." I mumbled as I grabbed the bracelet and put it on.

Quickly I go out the door and down the long hallways eventually leading outside where it was still pretty dark even while the moon shone above me. It seemed like a peaceful night that brought a feeling of drowsiness. I shook my head and soon enough I made it to the moon dormitory. I never understood why there where two classes and dorms. It was also a bit puzzling why some students would go to school at night. Despite my internal conflict I knocked on the door gently.

"Hello?" I ask, breaking the silence of the night.

"Who is it?" A voice questioned. It sounded vaguely familiar.

"It's (F/n) (L/n). Kaname asked if I could see him." I replied.

"Why would he request a day student to come at 1:00 in the morning? Hmm..."

It's one in the morning!? Sheesh. I must have been studying longer than I thought. Quickly after my sudden realization of what freaking time it was the doors opened revealing a tall, blonde boy with emerald eyes.

"You're Ichijo, right?" I questioned.

"Indeed I am. Kaname will be down shortly. Please, come in. Sit." He said gesturing to a chair nearby. I nod and walked to it, sitting down as I got to it and he did the same to a seat nearby

"So tell me. How do you know Kaname?" He asked sternly.

"Well, yesterday he brought me my uniform since Yuki was busy with some fight."

"I see...interesting." He put his finger to his chin thinking. Ichijio lifted himself and as he did this his features became more defined in the light.

His blonde hair was in front of his eyes and his softly shapen face. His features made him look kind and caring which I admired before I heard a lower, more stern voice from above.

"Ah (F/n). I'm glad you could make it tonight."

"Oh Kaname, hey." I waved to him as he made his way down the grand stairs.

"So what did you want to see me about?" I asked as I stood and walked to him.

"Actually I would like to talk in private, so if you'll follow me please."

"Oh sure!" I turn to Ichijo "And Ichijo, it was nice seeing you again!" I flash a closed eyed smile as I wave goodbye to him. He perked up a bit as he waved as well. A grin slid onto his face looking kind and warm.

"This way." Kaname said as he ascended the stairs while I followed him. We reached his room and he opened the door for me, shutting it behind us. I swear I heard a small 'click' as I walked farther into this unknown territory.

"So what did you want me here for?" I turn to see Kaname as his eyes glowed a scarlet red. I took a step back and I could feel a wave of cold rush through my system. It was fight or flight at this point.

"(F/n). Do you know the secrets of this academy?" He questions. I hesitantly answer.

"What do you mean?"

"You seem so timid all of a sudden (F/n). Why is that?" His tone shifted to a low, slightly sarcastic one.

"I..I..Your.." I was shaking lightly in fear of what might come next.

"My what (F/n)? Tell me please." His tone was growing more sarcastic.
Why is he acting like this all of a sudden?

"It's your... eyes..."

"What about them?"

"Red." Was all I managed to get out.

"And do you know what that means?" As he spoke I spotted his fangs. There is only one assumption. He's a vampire.

I nod as he slowly moves closer to me. I back up as he approaches and eventually pins my back to the wall. My mind was racing and my heart was pounding.

"So, based on that I can guess you can see I have grown quite hungry." He put one hand to the right of my head onto the wall. My eyes narrowed.

"Cut it out Kaname. I'll tell the headmaster if you don't knock off your crap!"

"Language."

"I don't think language is what I should be worried about." We exchanged glares before a convenient knock came tapping at his door.
Kaname turned to the door with annoyance in his eyes.

"Who is it?" He said as he shifted to a mire normal tone, yet it was easy to hear what he was feeling.

"It's Kiryu, I know (F/n) is in there and she needs to be in her dorm." Zero spoke from behind the door. Thank the lord above for oddly perfwct timing!

"I was only talking to her about certain matters, but fine. I understand with her being in the day class and all." Kaname sounded very sarcastic as he unlocked and opened the door. Zero looks at me annoyed and quickly makes his way over to me.

"Come on." He grabbed my wrist as he dragged me down the stairs and past some other students in the dorm. As we were almost out of the dormitory I could hear chatter and questions flying towards Kaname.

"What did I say about going to Kaname?" He said still dragging me by my wrist. I stayed silent as he sighed annoyed. Someone isn't happy.

Soon enough we made it back to my dorm room as Zero opened it for me. I quickly walked inside as I felt his gaze on the back of my head.

"Look I'm genuinely sorry, but I didn't think it would matter much." I say slightly shaken up after everything.

"Whatever, just stay in your room alright?" He says as he shuts my door. I could hear his footsteps soften as he gradually got farther and farther away.

I sigh as I get on a (F/c) shirt with small cats on them and some shorts.

So Kaname's a vampire? Does that mean ALL night class students are vampires too? I shudder at the thought as I shake my head. Great, just what I wanted in my school year. A bunch of vampires who's leader apparently wanted to freaking drink from me. No thank you ma'am.

I lay down in my comfortable bed and it felt as if a spell had been cast on me. My eyes became heavy. I could barely keep them open and I could feel myself drifting off pretty rapidly. As I did I found myself thinking; Why would Kaname pick me? Why would he want my blood?
